What is Supervision?

Many people question the difference between supervision and other helping professions. In his latest article, Erik de Haan explains that there is a considerable difference and a substantial additional responsibility. As a supervisor you (implicitly or explicitly) "sign off" on the coaching practice of your supervisee.

Whenever there are difficulties in their practice, supervisees will go to their supervisor: as a place for comfort, for reflection, or for finding an answer, but also a place to get ongoing validation and confirmation that they are doing, or have done, the right thing.
