First Moments in Coaching - Special Interest Group

The first moments of a coaching relationship

There is surprisingly little theory and literature on the power and effect of the first moments of a coaching relationship. Recent coaching research has been centered around “critical moments”, yet the powerful observations and learnings from the first moments of a coaching session have often been neglected. These moments offer wonderful insights to the client’s and the coach’s emotions and state of mind.

This session will attempt to provide a theoretical perspective and framework to what happens in the First Moments, which will be illustrated by practical experiences for the attendees
