Visa support for studying in the US

Planning to study in Boston comes with important questions about visas and work opportunities. At Hult, we provide clear guidance and dedicated support to help you navigate the process with confidence — from your student visa application through to post-study work authorization.

Studying in the US on an F-1 visa

F-1 student visas remain fully available. Recent policy discussions have created uncertainty, but no enacted changes restrict your ability to apply for an F-1 visa or begin your studies in the US. If you are applying now, the process remains active and unchanged.

H-1B fee doesn’t apply

Students transitioning from F-1/OPT to H-1B through a change-of-status application inside the U.S. are not subject to the recently reported $100,000 supplemental fee.

Change-of-status pathway remains intact

Employer-sponsored petitions filed while a graduate remains in valid F-1/OPT status continue to follow the established student-to-professional pathway.

Many rule changes are proposals

Several policy updates discussed in recent headlines — including adjustments to visa duration rules — have not been enacted and do not affect current applicants.
