After working for banks and in telecommunications, Gaety knew he wanted more. At Hult, he built the skills and the network to help achieve his life mission of helping others.
What is your current role?
As well as working as a risk manager for Coca Cola, I am the project manager for AfriKowledgeBank. We try to drive investments in Africa. We do this through education mainly, trying to change the narrative about Africa.
What drives your entrepreneurial ventures?
I didn't just want to make money, I wanted to help people. That's still my life mission. After graduation, I worked for a bank in Belgium, and then for Orange. But I wasn't really fulfilled, I wanted more than a job that just paid the bills. I wanted to do something that would change the world and, due to my background, I knew I wanted to start with Africa.
How did Hult help you achieve your goals?
One of our professors had done work in Rwanda and he gave our class a lot of touch points about the country and opened our eyes to what a technological hub it is. Hult really helped open my mind. If I hadn't come to Hult, I wouldn't have skills or the network I have today, I wouldn't have met my business partner. I literally and figuratively wouldn't see the world in the way I do today.
