"I was as uncertain as anybody else about virtual learning. Until I had my first virtual course at Hult. The learnings, knowledge, and experiences shared were outstanding. And the real “wow” factor is that the school, the incredibly passionate professor, and the course have all transformed me. I'm ready for the future with a resilient mindset. I've been impacted by the positive energy and knowledge transmitted through screens by my professor, my colleagues—and my friends."

Curriculum

Courses and electives

You can complete Hult's Virtual Part-Time MBA in either 18 or 24 months. If you choose 18 months, you’ll take more electives over the summer in your first year. If you choose to do the full two years, you’ll spread your six electives over both summers.

Below is a sample schedule, based on a September start. Admissions are accepted on a rolling basis, so the curriculum may be offered out of sequence for those enrolling after September.

Year 1

Leadership I

Your program begins with a total immersion into Hult’s uniquely practical approach to education that will set you on the right path for the year ahead.

Organizational Behavior

Explore the psychological and sociological foundations of individual and group behavior in global organizations in order to motivate others, make decisions, design organizations, and navigate national and corporate cultures, with a special focus on multicultural business contexts.

Marketing

Understand the processes involved in the marketing lifecycle from a managerial perspective, focusing on international marketing contexts.

Data & Decisions

Place yourself at the intersection of statistical analysis and business knowledge so that you can make meaningful, impactful contributions to any business.

Accouting

Examine the framework of accounting principles as well as the available methods of accounting to measure, analyze, and report economic events for internal organizational purposes.

Project Planning & Execution

Gain the project management skills necessary for a business executive, manager, consultant, or entrepreneur to successfully initiate, plan, and execute projects.

Financial Management

Develop the financial skills and logical thought processes necessary to understand and discuss financial policy decisions in a global economy. Objectives include developing an understanding of the time value of money, using financial statements in decision making, understanding the nature of financial markets, the cost of capital, valuation of stocks and bonds, management of short-term assets, short-term and long-term financing, lease financing, capital markets, multinational financial management, and special topics in financial management. You will also address the impact of legal, social, technological, and ethical considerations on efficient economic outcomes.

Electives

Choose six electives in total from a broad range of topics, and specialize by completing three or more electives in a particular subject area: marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, business analytics, or disruptive technology. In addition to usual in-person courses, some electives are also offered through a mix of in-person, online, and blended formats. You can take electives at any of Hult's global campuses, or online from home.

Year 2

Leadership II: Negotiation & Persuasion

Build on the skills introduced during Leadership I and hone your powers of communication, negotiation, and persuasion.

Managerial Economics

Study the analytical foundations that are essential to rigorously address key issues in competitive strategy, marketing strategy, and related fields to make better decisions. You’ll review companies’ strategic decision making problems, their available options, and how the competitive environment affects performance.

Business in Global Society

Explore the economic, social, and political context of global business and identify the institutional frameworks that shape the wider context of business. There will be a special focus on defining and understanding the meaning, importance, and implications of social responsibility for all stakeholders.

Operations Management

Develop an understanding of operations management in both service and manufacturing organizations, with an emphasis on international operations.

Global Strategy

Executives face constant change in global industry as well as in their own backyard. The solutions they must define strike a delicate balance between adapting strategic thinking to business realities and implementing attitudes that are essential to motivating their teams. Develop a deep understanding of the challenges top management in today’s corporations face when implementing corporate and global strategy. You will focus on the craft, the opportunities, and the challenges of developing strategies. Among the analytical skills are methodologies and frameworks for product, firm, industry, and market analysis.

Capstone Experience

The capstone to your core program delves deep into the techniques and technology being used to innovate business for the future and pushes you to apply everything you have learned so far to your Future Challenge. You’ll prepare for the Future Challenge by first learning about the disruptive technologies themselves, for example blockchain, gene editing, or artificial intelligence. You'll then harness the technology to create a compelling new business opportunity, either for your own startup or for an existing company.
