Faith Washington on Staying Ahead Through Hult’s Lifelong Learning Program
As industries evolve and business priorities shift, being open to opportunities for learning and development is key to long-term success. That’s why, as a Hult graduate, you can return each year to take an elective at any of our global campuses or online, helping you keep your skills relevant and ready for what’s next.
Hult alum Faith Washington, from our Global One-Year MBA Class of 2023, shares why she believes lifelong learning at Hult is vital to staying ahead and embracing change.
Hult: How have electives helped you stay ahead and gain insights into new topics you might not encounter in your daily role?
Faith: Business moves fast, and it’s easy to stay focused only on immediate priorities. Hult’s electives allow me to pause and think strategically about where industries, teams, and leadership are heading. The courses provided me with exposure to emerging ideas and conversations I wouldn’t necessarily encounter in my day-to-day work. More importantly, they created space to reflect, ask better questions, and learn from people with different experiences and ideas. For me, staying ahead isn’t about chasing every trend—it’s about developing the adaptability and confidence to navigate change thoughtfully.
“The electives provided me with exposure to emerging ideas and conversations I wouldn’t necessarily encounter in my day-to-day work.”
H: How did it feel to reconnect with the Hult community during the electives?
F: Honestly, “rewarding” doesn’t feel like a strong enough word. Looking back, I’m proud of the communities and relationships I’ve built through different stages of my life. There’s a unique energy that comes from being surrounded by ambitious, curious, and supportive people.
Transitioning from a highly competitive athletic background into corporate life made me appreciate spaces that foster both personal growth and collaboration. Hult brings together people who are intelligent, driven, adventurous, and open to learning from one another.
That sense of community extends far beyond the classroom, which is a big part of what makes returning for electives such a meaningful experience.
“Hult continues to bring together people who are intelligent, driven, adventurous, and open to learning from one another.”
H: What would you say to alumni who are unsure about signing up for lifelong learning at Hult in 2026?
F: I understand why some alumni may feel uncertain. We’re all navigating constant change. One thing I’ve learned as a consultant in organizational transformation is that growth rarely happens at the “perfect” time.
At Hult, we talk about being “Hult strong”—being leaders who show up fully in our careers while continuing to invest in ourselves through learning, new perspectives, and meaningful global connections. That mindset really stayed with me.
The electives are an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, explore topics like AI, digital transformation, and leadership, and reconnect with a community that challenges and inspires you. My advice? Stay curious, choose the subjects that genuinely excite you, and keep building skills that will help you grow.
“Stay curious, choose courses that excite you, and keep building skills that will help you grow personally and professionally.”
