Hult’s Boston campus visited the corporate headquarters of iRobot in Bedford, Massachusetts. Founded in 1990 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology roboticists, iRobot operates with the vision of creating practical robots that make a difference.

In 2011, iRobot generated more than $465 million in revenue and employed more than 600 of the robot industry’s top professionals, including mechanical, electrical and software engineers and related support staff.  The company also has offices in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, California, the United Kingdom, France, China and Hong Kong.

iRobot’s products stretch through many markets including robots for the home and school to those meant for defense and public safety by the military.  Students had the opportunity to meet with company executives, tour the facilities and visit the robot museum exploring the ideas, inspiration, innovation and technology of one of the world’s leaders in the robot industry.
