2022 Challenge

Task: Create multimedia marketing campaigns to promote Clear Hair, a Unilever brand, to Gen Z audiences.

In 2022, we launched our challenges with industry-leading FMCG company Unilever. Nearly 600 students in more than 30 countries took part in the live online competition, tasked with creating multimedia marketing campaigns to promote Clear Hair, a Unilever brand, to Gen Z audiences. Teams tuned in to weekly live virtual masterclasses hosted by Hult professors, and over the course of ten weeks, 115 teams were narrowed down to ten finalist teams via immersion sessions with Hult professors and Unilever executives. The 2022 winning teams each received 15,000 USD. The London winner were Team Saigonese of the Canadian International School of Vietnam. The 2022 Boston challenge winner was Team Nous Consultants from Blue Valley School, Costa Rica.

2021 Challenge

For the 2021 Challenge in Europe, Unilever tasked teams with creating a proposal to launch a new limited-edition product for their deodorant brand Axe.

Stepping up to the challenge, Team Banach from Aquinas American School of Madrid, Spain zeroed in on two pivotal parts of the brief, demonstrating a great understanding of the consumer research provided by Unilever to propose a fresh new collaboration that connected two seemingly distinct companies with a unique product positioned to reignite confidence in a demographic struggling to feel self-assured when it comes to dating. The result? A winning pitch and proposal for a limited-edition product between Axe and Tinder Plus that took home the 1st prize and a 15,000 USD scholarship for each team member.
