About the session

Hap Klopp was the founder and, for 20 years, the CEO of The North Face which has its origins in the Silicon Valley region of the US.  After selling The North Face he set up his own consulting company, participated in a number of business startups, served on some corporate boards, taught at major business schools, including Hult, and  has written two best selling business books—Conquering The North Face, 2012 and Almost, 2018.

His presentation, entitled “Failure is the Secret Sauce of Silicon Valley,” draws from all of those varied experiences, especially those outlined in “Almost.”   The talk will touch on the unique attitudes in Silicon Valley towards failure, and how the acceptance of it has led to The Silicon Valley and San Fransisco bay Area to become fertile ground for businesses.
