LOCATION

Ashridge House, Berkhamsted, UK

DATE

Hosted by Hult Ashridge Centre for Coaching in partnership with the UK Chapter of the ICF

How can team coaching keep up with complexity?

Smiling man with curly blonde hair wearing a blue jacket and green checkered shirt, standing in front of a wooden door.

In less than 20 years, team coaching has become a profession, with ethics and supervision standards and a literature base. We have rich methodology, anchoring in psychological and systemic theory, and the beginning of a research base.

Team coaching is mandated and co-ordinated in many large organisations and growing fast. It is not just used in a remedial way, but also preventative, and as a learning opportunity. At the same time, the world around us has become more complex, more uncertain, and increasingly shaped by AI.

As AI becomes more embedded in organisations, the differentiating capability of teams will be their ability to relate well across difference, build trust, and work systemically.

But how can we draw out this ability and relational prowess in teams?

  • The ability to divide and track strategic change in complex environments?

  • The ability to sustain and contain change, including fear and resistance?

With these questions in mind, we have brought together many of the leading authors, practitioners and innovators in team coaching for a day of dialogue, live demonstration, supervision and shared reflection. Together, we will explore what relational team coaching has to offer in a world of complexity and crisis—and what our profession is being called to become.

Dr. Erik de Haan, Director of the Hult Ashridge Centre for Coaching
