Our postgraduate London campus was buzzing this week. Master’s and MBA students alike came together to find their people. Officially it was a clubs fair but what our students got out of it was all down to them. We found financial advisors, avid readers, and the odd sportsperson. Read on for a taste of which clubs were out in force.

Cryptosphere

So, we’re a club that’s everywhere in Europe-not just London. We are focused on educational workshops around fintech, and cryptocurrency and we are offering Hult students a global network with similar goals. As I say, we’re still growing but have partnered with big names like Deloitte’s for some of our events. The end goal is to get those who want jobs in the industry on the right track. There’s a big Fintech London event coming up for anyone who wants to come.

Badminton

We feel that badminton is one of those sports that is super accessible. And that’s what we hope the draw will be. It doesn’t matter about your level of experience. We just want people who are keen to play. It started simply enough, with a casual chat outside a classroom where we realized there were quite a few of us who played in our free time. They have a badminton club on the undergraduate campus, so why not here?

Hispanic Society

Hult’s so diverse and the more clubs that celebrate that are a good thing. With the Hispanic Society we wanted to create a space those people from Spanish-speaking countries could come and share familiar traditions and just generally network. That isn’t to say those from other countries aren’t welcome! We want everyone to be a part of the club and to participate in a cultural exchange. Maybe that’s bringing a dish from your home country, showing us a movie, whatever. Let’s get together.

Buy-Side Society

Hult is all about bridging the gap between what you learn in the classroom and how to actually apply it. We take that spirit into our club. Most of our members want jobs in asset management or venture capital or a hedge fund and we’re going to help them get there. We get the top executives from the industries mentioned and have them in for talks so our members get the extra guidance needed to push them into their dream roles. Our next guest is a hedge fund manager from the Dominican Republic as we have plenty of members from the DR.

Pet Club

We are Hult London’s very first Pet Club! The response we’ve had since we started up a few weeks ago has been crazy. It seems there’s big love on the campus for our furry friends. We do have a more serious mission though and have partnered with the RSPCA and Battersea Dogs Home here in London to keep all the pets in need of a little extra love, safe and sound. Join us for a truly worthy cause. Pet Club

Financial Integrity

Starting last year, our idea is to understand better how ESG is benefiting business from a financial standpoint. For example, companies who do implement ESG tend to be more profitable than those that don’t. Our hope for people who join us is to better educate them in these practices through the use of workshops and professional speaker events. In terms of actually applying what we’ve learned, there are plans to write a group paper and metanalysis that we can eventually publish. Having that on our LinkedIn and resumes will make us more credible when applying for work.

The Quiet Corner

Essentially, we are a book club, but we call ourselves The Quiet Corner because we feel books are an intimate moment where you can truly center yourself. What makes this book club more Hult-y is the networking aspect of it. There is no pressure to network, but there are quiet connections to be made with those who are also into reading and learning. We run two or three books a month rather than just one. This is so people who read at different paces are all catered for.
