Last week marked the commencement of an exciting new building on the banks of the Charles River in Boston, Massachusetts, which will expand the Hult International Business School campus and provide a range of housing options for Hult students. The mixed-use building will also provide valuable public spaces for the wider community.

Dr. Edward Hult, a member of Hult’s founding family and CEO of EF Education First North America, was joined by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and many Commonwealth and City of Cambridge leaders to celebrate the event, which will ultimately lead to the creation of a 300,000-square-foot, 12-story, state-of-the-art building designed to a LEED Gold standard, due to open its doors to Hult students in 2019.

Dr. Edward Hult and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker break the ground on the future Hult Boston student residence.
During the groundbreaking celebrations Montreal-based troupe The 7 Fingers pay homage to the new recreational spaces in a conceptualized performance featuring BMX bikers, skateboarders, and aerialists.
Renderings of the new building: the ground floor will include a public fitness center with a rock climbing wall, a small café, public restrooms, and hundreds of new public bike parking spaces.
The upper floors will host a mix of uses including student housing and study space, office space, and parking.
This ambitious project includes 60,000 square feet (2 acres) of new public green space and fitness amenities adjacent to the building and DCR’s beautiful North Point Park.
The new parklands will feature an outdoor fitness course, a “flex field” and track for sports, pedestrian pathways, and outdoor seating.

We look forward to welcoming Hult students to this awe-inspiring new building during the 2019-2020 school year.
