Hult International Business School has been recognized in the 2026 Positive Impact Rating (PIR), achieving a Level 3 “Progressing School” rating in its first year of participation. The result places Hult among a global group of business schools that are actively working to prepare students to become responsible leaders who create measurable positive impact in the world.

What is the Positive Impact Rating?

The PIR is one of the most distinctive assessments in business education. Unlike traditional rankings, it is driven entirely by students. No data is submitted by the school itself. Instead, ratings are based solely on how students perceive their school’s commitment to societal impact, making it one of the most authentic and transparent measures available.

Schools are evaluated across three areas and seven dimensions:

  • Energizing: How governance and culture orient the school toward positive impact
  • Educating: How programs prepare students to lead responsibly in business and society
  • Engaging: How the school earns trust and acts as a responsible public institution

Only schools rated at Levels 1 through 3 are publicly listed in the PIR. Inclusion is itself a mark of recognition.

A strong start

Achieving Level 3 in a first year of participation is a credible result. It means demonstrating evidence of results across several impact dimensions, not just intention, but action that students can see and feel in their day-to-day experience.

For Hult, the result reflects what’s already at the heart of the school: a curriculum built around real-world challenges, a culture that pushes students beyond their comfort zone, and a belief that business can be a force for good.

The PIR is also closely aligned with EQUIS and AACSB accreditation standards and the UN’s Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), frameworks that Hult is already committed to. Entering the PIR was a natural next step.

Why it matters

Hult exists to create a better future for all by challenging its community to make an impact that matters. The PIR is one of the clearest external validations of that purpose—assessed not by the school, but by its students experiencing it.

That applies across every program, from bachelor’s to doctoral study. Whether you’re launching your career, pivoting into a new industry, or leading at the highest levels of your organization, Hult is built around one idea: that success means something more than a job title or a salary. It means making a difference.

The PIR result reflects what students across Hult’s programs value—an education designed around both employability and impact.

What comes next

Hult’s participation in the PIR is part of a longer journey. The rating provides an evidence-based foundation to build on and a clear signal of the direction in which the school is heading.
