“Dare mighty things.” This three-word call to action was first spoken by Theodore Roosevelt two years before stepping into the job as the 26th President of the United States. The visionary politician was urging citizens to live a life with purpose—to set bold, ambitious goals. To choose to move forward and upwards. And to risk failure in order to find success.
Since then, the phrase has been borrowed by individuals and organizations to convey their groundbreaking ambition. In 2021, NASA had the phrase encoded in binary on the parachute of the Perseverance rover as it floated down to the surface of Mars.
As we step into a future of the unknown, driven by rapid global changes, we think to dare mighty things is exactly what Hult students are called to do, too. Every day, our students work together, pushing themselves to solve important, real-world problems with no clear-cut answers. They practice taking risks, leading across cultures, and finding their purpose through challenge and collaboration.

Setting the stage
In support of the launch of our newest portfolio of future-focused undergraduate, master’s, and MBA programs, we decided to put dare mighty things at the heart of our message to prospective students.
To capture the sentiment of daring mightily, we needed visuals that would inspire future Hultians to do exactly that. Fortunately, 11 current students were up for the challenge, meeting in the summer heat for a full day of filming at Holborn Studios in buzzing North London.
Undergrads Gael Cervantes, Gabriella Yammine, Shirin Kvalheim-Bouali, Nelli Alaverdyan, Andre De Luna, Cherise Kiruki, Mariyam Hiba Mohamed, and Nathan Wehrmann, alongside postgraduate students Negin Amani Babadi, Aida Ben Hamouda, and John Prempeh arrived not quite sure what was in store for them.
But they knew it would involve a trampoline.

On set: The only way is up
From the moment the team started setting up, you could feel the energy in the room. For many Hult students, this was their first experience on a real production set, complete with lights, cameras, and a busy crew working alongside hair and makeup artists to get everyone camera-ready.
The vision was directed by brothers Will and Ed Reid, who knew exactly how to bring the concept to life. It needed the right staging. The right atmosphere. And a lot, a lot of bouncing.
The students were briefed on their task and were ready to jump in with enthusiasm. When the cameras started rolling, the trampoline became the stage—turning the day into something between an aerobics session and a photoshoot. The students and crew really clicked, cheering each other on and celebrating each triumphant shot. Whenever the director captured the perfect moment, you’d hear cheers and an excited, “Perfect!” or “That’s the one!” from behind the lens.

While the end result features Hult students launching skywards in epic slow motion, the rough footage looks a bit more like this:
Each student took their turn on the trampoline, sharing laughter, water breaks, and tips for the perfect leap.
What really stood out was how professional the students were when working alongside the film crew. They took directions like pros, eager to get things right and make sure the shoot was a success.
But the day wasn’t really that out of the ordinary for Hult students, who, after all, have plenty of practice working creatively, collaborating, challenging themselves, and having genuine fun together.
“At Hult, we’re inspired to think bigger, collaborate, and find solutions. To me, that’s what ‘Dare Mighty Things’ is all about, believing in yourself and taking bold steps to turn your dreams into reality.”

Taking the leap
Deciding on a degree program is a leap into the unknown, too—one our current students say they’re glad they made. During the shoot, we also spoke to them about their Hult experience and asked what they’d like to leap into next without fear holding them down. Their answers are indeed mighty, as you’ll see below.
“My dream is to open a school in Kenya to create opportunities for those without them. Hult has shown me that nothing should stand in the way of making an impact.”
Cherise Kiruki
Bachelor of Business Administration, Class of 2026
“My goal is to make my parents proud and eventually run our family business successfully. Hult is preparing me for that by giving me the mentorship and connections with people from all over the world.”
Nelli Alaverdyan
Bachelor of Business Administration, Class of 2025
“I want to create a platform that helps people learn to use AI successfully. Hult has given me the skills, guidance, and experiences to make this possible, showing that with ambition and support, you can make a meaningful impact and turn your vision into reality.”
John Prempeh
Master’s in Management, Class of 2025
