Management

Almost all successful business graduates will eventually find themselves managing people, processes, and facilities, and the effectiveness of their management style will determine the success, health, and longevity of the business.

A broad overview in management

The business environment of the 21st century requires multi-talented and well prepared professionals who can achieve results by overcoming organizational hurdles in an efficient and timely manner. This concentration is designed to educate future leaders and help in developing the skills and strategic management capabilities needed to succeed within a global business environment. Students will learn to see the enterprise as a whole, and to appreciate the linkages between the different functional areas of management. Additionally, students will develop their managerial “soft skills:” how to successfully lead a team, motivate and coach colleagues, and deliver results within a dynamic context. Successful managers explore and identify creative interests to ensure they can nurture and match them with the vision and mission of the corporation.

Answers to fundamental questions

In addressing both functional and practical aspects of management, there are a number of enduring questions:

  • What is the impact of effective leadership on organizational behavior?
