Dr. Stephen J. Hodges

Dr. Stephen J. Hodges, President

Dr. Stephen Hodges joined Hult International Business School as Chairman of the Board in January 2006 and was elected President in August 2006, bringing with him a strong background in international business.

Before coming to Hult, Dr. Hodges ran several large businesses and worked in a number of different countries: Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Spain, Germany, Sweden, and the United States as well as his home country, the United Kingdom. A businessman for most of his life, Dr. Hodges is a strong advocate of practical education. He said, "Hult strives to provide an open learning platform that fosters an easy exchange of ideas, intellectual growth, and innovation. Our aim is to significantly enhance each student's career by strengthening his or her ability to contribute meaningfully to his business and his community." View a video of President Hodges' vision.

Prior to joining the business school, he was the General Manager of Credit Cards for Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong, overseeing a multi-billion dollar portfolio and acting as a major driver of the bank's profits. During his time with Standard Chartered, he held a number of other important positions and was heavily involved in several major acquisitions undertaken by the bank. Dr. Hodges started his career with McKinsey & Company in London, where he was an associate principal. He served a number of financial institutions and technology companies across Europe and Asia, working closely with their senior management. While at McKinsey, Dr. Hodges specialized in establishing new businesses for his clients. He led the creation of several new Internet companies in the United Kingdom as well as a credit card company in Spain.

Dr. Hodges is a British citizen and holds a Ph.D from Manchester University and an MA from Cambridge University. He completed two years of post-doctorate research in electronic engineering with AT&T Laboratories in Cambridge and is the co-author of several patents in data communication.

Margaret Andrews

Vice Provost

Margaret Andrews, Vice Provost

Margaret manages the global academic team across campuses in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai and provides leadership for academic activities in the graduate programs. 
 
Prior to working at Hult, Margaret was Associate Dean at Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education.  As academic and administrative dean for management programs, she set and executed program strategy, recruited and developed faculty, and designed and developed courses and programs.  During her tenure, she launched new management and certificate programs, increased the number and variety of course offerings, grew enrollments, and launched a series of short professional development programs and grew them not a successful business of open enrollment programs.  She also designed, developed and taught a number of on-campus, online and hybrid courses, as well as two-day professional development programs.
 
Preceding Harvard, Andrews was Executive Director at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she managed the MBA Program, Admissions, Student Affairs, and Career Development for the MBA Program, and Marketing, Alumni Relations, and the MIT Sloan Management Review for the entire MIT Sloan School.

Rob Anthony

Global Dean, Postgraduate

Rob Anthony

Professor Anthony has pursued a dual career as a general management consultant and an educator. As a consultant, he has a broad practice in assisting global corporate clients in the areas of change management, strategy innovation, and leadership development. His experience includes working with groups and teams across levels, functions, industries, and geographies to develop competitive visions, solve problems, implement strategies, and build capabilities. Rob holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB, magna cum laude, from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He is currently a PhD candidate at Bentley College and lives in Lexington, Massachusetts. In October 2014, Professor Anthony left his teaching position to take on his current post of Global Dean, Postgraduate.

Ian Dougal

Global Dean, Undergraduate

Ian Dougal

Dr. Ian Dougal earned his undergraduate degree from Swansea University, his Masters degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his PhD (in International Relations) from the University of Birmingham. His research is focused on the role of the United States in the world order. He joined Hult in 2000, as a professor of International Relations, teaching classes in Diplomacy & Negotiation, International Security, and American Foreign Policy. Dr. Dougal was appointed Dean of the London campus in 2007, and from this post has overseen the development of both undergraduate and master's programs. In August 2011 Dr. Dougal took on the role of  Dean of Programs and was responsible for global curriculum and policy, and the maintenance of academic quality across all Hult's campuses.  In October 2013, Dr. Dougal left his position as Dean of Programs to take on his current post of Global Dean, Undergraduate.

Anders Ljungdahl

Anders Ljungdahl, Chief Financial Officer

Anders Ljungdahl joined Hult International Business School as Chief Financial Officer in 2009. Mr. Ljungdahl’s extensive international experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management has enabled him to manage the financial aspects of the school’s growth, both in geographic and student enrollment terms.

Having always been a believer in learning by doing, Mr. Ljungdahl is proud of what Hult stands for. He said, “The practical emphasis and international exposure ensure that Hult graduates are ready for and will contribute in the marketplace.”

Before joining Hult, Mr. Ljungdahl was Business Controller for one of the business units at the EF Education First group headquarters in Switzerland, responsible for managing the financial aspects of that business unit in over 30 markets. Mr. Ljungdahl spent just over a decade with the EF Education First group in various regional finance positions in Amsterdam, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and finally Lucerne, Switzerland.

Mr. Ljungdahl has a Master of Science in Business Administration and Economics with a specialization in Japanese from the Gothenburg School of Economics at Gothenburg University in Sweden. As part of his degree, he studied at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan and wrote his Master’s thesis on foreign managers’ leadership styles in Japan.

Mr. Ljungdahl is a Swedish citizen and married with three children. Although he has not lived in Sweden for the last 15 years, he loves to spend his summers there and is a keen sailor and golfer. While at home in London, he is an ardent supporter of Arsenal Football Club and often spends his weekends at sports events with his children.

Chris Holmes

Chief Operating Officer
Chris Holmes, Chief Operating Officer

Chris Holmes joined Hult International Business School as Chief Operating Officer in December 2012 bringing a background in commercial, operational, and consulting roles with international businesses.

Before coming to Hult, Mr. Holmes gained extensive experience over a 30-year career working with Retailing and Consumer product companies as a Director and Management Consultant. He has worked in the U.S.A., Central and Western Europe, the Middle East, as well as his native country, the United Kingdom.

Immediately before joining the school, Mr. Holmes was a Commercial Director for Tesco PLC, the world’s 3rd largest retailer, leading the $1.5billion non-food division in Central Europe.  During his time at Tesco, he held several other leadership roles including Non-food IT and Logistics Director for Central Europe, overseeing the implementation of IT systems and several large distribution centers in Slovakia.

Prior to joining Tesco, Mr. Holmes was a partner with Arthur Andersen LLP where he led the Retail and Consumer practice within the business consulting division. He served many leading international retail and consumer products companies leading diverse projects related to strategy, process re-engineering, and due diligence.

Mr. Holmes started his career at Marks and Spencer PLC, a leading UK-based retailer.  While at Marks and Spencer, he held a variety of commercial and operational roles including Vice President of Buying for the U.S.-based subsidiary Brooks Brothers in New York.

Mr. Holmes is a British citizen and lives in London with his wife and three children. He enjoys playing golf and sailing and is an avid sports fan supporting Chelsea FC.

Hult International Business School is named after Bertil Hult, the Chairman Emeritus of Hult International Business School and Founder of EF Education First. Bertil Hult emphasizes the value of a global and practical business education.
