Building on the success of the first annual Worldwide Alumni Day in 2016 (800+ alumni engaged in 45+ cities globally), we are calling again on Hult alumni from all around the world to join us on Thursday, September 21, 2017 to make Hult history.
Once again, this alumni-led initiative will seek to recognize and celebrate the growing Hult alumni network during one day. While we invite our alumni to plan local events ranging from casual social gatherings, to networking dinners, or guest speaker events, we also want to encourage our global community to engage with this year’s Hult Prize challenge: Reawakening Human Potential to restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees.
Today, the Hult Prize Foundation estimates more than 1 billion people globally are refugees due to conflict, environmental degradation, and lack of economic opportunity. But rather than seeing the refugee crisis as a crisis of resources, Hult Prize is inviting us to see it as a crisis of imagination. When the plight of refugees is approached as a crisis of imagination, the natural response is to produce fundamental solutions to the challenges involuntary migrants face. It means approaching the refugees as customers with particular needs.
On September 21, we invite our alumni community to celebrate, give exposure to, or even get involved with local businesses and/or initiatives that work towards restoring the rights and dignity of refugees in their city/region. We invite your creativity as your involvement could take many forms: a speaker event, a networking event, or a fundraising campaign.
