Why do your MBA in San Francisco?

Our dedicated Career Development teams work one-on-one with students at each of our global campuses to prepare them for the global job market. Here are a few snapshots of career-related events from San Francisco:

Cracking employment at Google

Hult students in San Francisco were given an insider’s perspective on working life within the world’s largest search engine firm. Hult alumni now working at Google returned to campus to host an overview on how to become part of the tech giant, and how to thrive once employed there.

Career connections forum

San Francisco’s startup-driven economy means 85% of companies in the area have 10 employees or fewer. Most recruit for internships, with over 70% converting to full-time jobs. Hult San Francisco strategically used the annual career event to bring these employers to campus, focusing on the startups that make up the majority of hiring companies in San Francisco.

Network hard, play hard

Renowned speaker Jaymin Patel hosted a seminar on effective group networking at events. Students learned quick tips (“Look for groups of people whose feet are facing out, which indicates openness for others to join the conversation”), as well as longer term strategies. Attendees then put the lesson into practice at an ensuing reception attended by 40+ Hult alumni members.

Bringing lessons to life in San Francisco

Hult San Francisco went to TomKat Ranch to see how the venture capital model is used for environmental and social improvement in California. Students discussed the routines and rewards of venture capital with the founding partner of the ranch, who moved away from high-tech investments into sustainable agriculture investments. The class experienced firsthand the role venture capitalism plays in a region embracing both capitalism and ecology.
