Hult Covid-19 Vaccine Approach

August, 2022

We are fortunate that our campuses are located in countries that are leading the vaccine rollout and our campuses are ready to assist you.

Read below to find out more about our updated vaccination guidelines

Dear Hult Community,

The Covid-19 pandemic has evolved since 2020, and so too has our campus response. All efforts have been made to keep our community safe while allowing students to continue their education at the highest possible level, make meaningful connections, and enjoy their experiences despite these unprecedented circumstances.

Hult was pleased to be able to open all campuses in the fall of 2021 and has continued to follow a combination of local country and health guidelines to maintain campus safety as well as providing resources to find local testing, vaccinations, and sanitary learning environments. Because of this, positive cases have been very rare on our campuses, and we have been able to create a vibrant campus and learning experience.

In addition, a vaccine mandate was introduced which required all students, staff, and faculty to be vaccinated or have been approved for an exemption to access campus. Globally, Hult has achieved an average of 99% vaccination of our community members across all campuses.

Given the wide availability of vaccines around the world, we are continuing our requirement for the 2022-2023 Academic Year that all students be fully vaccinated, including a booster dose, to attend in-person learning in the Fall.

*Medical, religious, and declination exemptions from vaccination will be granted to students, and reasonable accommodations will be provided (as determined by applicable law).

Please note, if changes occur relating to Covid-19 cases rising suddenly in a specific location, we may implement precautions such as mask-wearing and surveillance testing—regardless of vaccination status—to protect the community and allow social interactions to continue, if permitted by local regulations. As the situation keeps evolving, this entire approach may be subject to change or amendment at short notice.

We hope you will join us in supporting this approach and we look forward to welcoming you to one of our campuses.

FAQ

Why are you taking this approach?

Hult is committed to providing the safest possible campus experience for students, faculty, and staff and we have continually implemented safety measures on campus throughout the pandemic to achieve this goal. Studies have shown that the vaccines significantly lower the risk of contracting or becoming seriously ill with Covid-19. The higher the vaccination rate of our entire community, the safer everyone will be and the closer to “normal” the campus will be able to function (as local regulations allow).

What vaccinations are accepted?

All vaccinations approved by the World Health Organization, as well as Sputnik V.

Can I still choose to wear a mask?

Yes. At your discretion, mask wearing is optional and welcomed while on campus or at community events.

*Note: Dubai campus, as of August 2022, still requires masks indoors. Please see a campus staff member regarding our Exemption form if needed.

How can I apply for the medical, religious, or declination exemption?

Each campus will have its own process of how you can apply. Before doing so, we encourage you to review the following information: WHO Vaccine Safety.

If I am vaccinated, does that mean I won’t ever have to wear a mask, be surveillance tested, or practice social distancing?

No, there is no guarantee of that. Firstly, local regulations will always take precedence (for example, Dubai currently requires masks indoors). Secondly, if cases start to rise significantly in a location, Hult may require mask wearing and surveillance testing of all individuals—regardless of vaccination status—in order to protect the community and still allow social interactions. Social distancing may also be implemented when and where necessary.

Anything else I should know?

As always, you should consult your own medical provider should you have individual questions. Please also remember that this approach is subject to the allowances of local regulations, which may change at any time with or without notice.
