September is always an inspiring month for Hultians as it marks the Finals of the annual Hult Prize<\/a>. Held as part of the United Nations General Assembly week in New York City, the Hult Prize was founded by a Hult student in 2009 and is now the world\u2019s largest student competition and movement for social good. This month also saw our Global One-Year MBA<\/a> program ranked 15th<\/sup> best in the world by Forbes<\/em> in their annual Best International 1-year MBA Programs Ranking. 1. Hult Global One-Year MBA program ranked #15 in the world by Forbes<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Forbes<\/em> reviewed schools based on their graduates\u2019 return on investment after five years. Hult\u2019s intensive one-year programs and impressive career results mean less time out of the workplace and an average starting salary of over USD90K. 2. Hult Prize Finals\u2014Restoring the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees<\/strong><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s USD1million challenge, announced by President Bill Clinton, called on participants to re-awaken human potential and restore the rights and dignity of 10 million refugees by 2022. The winning team\u2014Roshni Rides\u2014devised an innovative public ride-sharing service using electricity powered rickshaws. CNN Money<\/a> takes a detailed look at the winning team\u2019s model and the demands of setting up a business in a refugee camp. NPR<\/a> captured coverage of the night, while More News takes a closer look at the winning team.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

3. Hult faculty in the press<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hult faculty have been widely featured in the press this month. Professor of Strategy Dr. Olaf Groth co-wrote a fascinating piece on the future of Artificial Intelligence along with fellow Hult Professor of Business and Economics Dr. Mark Esposito. In it, they argue for a \u201cmodern Magna Carta\u201d to enshrine the rights and autonomy of human beings in the wake of ever-more sophisticated AI developments. This has been widely re-published, including by the World Economic Forum<\/a> and is upcoming in multiple national editions of Harvard Business Review over the next few months.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Research Lead Dr. Nadine Page contributed to the\u00a0Harvard Business Review this month. Nadine\u2019s recent research into narcissistic and Machiavellian business leaders studied how hostile personality disorders or characteristics affect a person\u2019s chances of promotion at work, and how their subordinates perceive them. The conclusions drawn from this research may surprise you.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Professor of Entrepreneurship Mike Grandinetti is featured in NEMA<\/a> with a thought leadership piece about Industry 4.0 and the \u201cEra of Accelerated Disruption\u201d\u2014the new age where continuous innovation is a necessary standard.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Professor of Practice Mike Cooray is featured in World Economic Forum<\/a>. The UN predicts that by 2050, 66% of the world\u2019s population will live in cities. Mike, in collaboration with colleagues at UCL and CBS Copenhagen, lays out three critical factors that must be addressed for this to be successful.<\/p>\n

Patricia Hind, Academic Director for the Executive Masters in Organizational Change program at Ashridge Executive Education, writes about \u201cConscious Strategy\u201d for the Saudi Gazette<\/a>. Patricia offers her four top tips for successfully engineering sustainable organizational change.<\/p>\n

4. Hult alumni in the press<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indian daily The Hindu features<\/a> enterprising MBA grad Sumeet Turakhiya. Sumeet founded Tech Brewery<\/a>, and is now in the process of digitizing restaurant services across India and slashing waiting times.<\/p>\n
