Ever wondered why Presidential candidates strive for the female vote<\/a><\/strong>?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s simply because more women are registered to vote than men. In the 2008 elections, 10 million more women voted than men.<\/p>\n

But elections aren\u2019t just about politics<\/a><\/strong>; it\u2019s about your influence.<\/p>\n

According to Thea Bellos, president of Global Stewards Institute<\/a> <\/strong>and Hult International Business School<\/a> Professor, it\u2019s the female vote that ultimately may decide which candidate wins in November, to be inaugurated in January 2013.<\/p>\n

Looking back at the 2008 elections<\/a><\/strong>, 56 percent of women voted for Barack Obama while 43 percent of women voted for John McCain.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, voter involvement<\/a> <\/strong> in the upcoming elections is anticipated to be lower than four years ago, which means the female voice could be getting subdued.<\/p>\n

Why should you care? Issues of importance to women, such as healthcare, reproductive rights and the economy are dominating election debates.<\/p>\n
