Hult alum Faith Washington, from our Global One-Year MBA<\/a> Class of 2023, shares why she believes lifelong learning at Hult<\/strong> is vital to staying ahead and embracing change.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hult: How have electives helped you stay ahead and gain insights into new topics you might not\u00a0encounter\u00a0in your daily role?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Faith<\/span><\/b>: Business moves\u00a0fast, and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0easy to stay focused only on immediate priorities.\u00a0<\/span>Hult\u2019s electives\u00a0allow me to pause and think strategically about where industries, teams, and leadership are heading.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The courses\u00a0provided me with\u00a0exposure to emerging ideas and conversations\u00a0I\u00a0wouldn\u2019t\u00a0necessarily\u00a0encounter\u00a0in my day-to-day work. More importantly, they created space to reflect, ask better questions, and learn from people with\u00a0different\u00a0experiences and ideas.\u00a0<\/span>For me, staying ahead\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0about chasing every trend\u2014it\u2019s\u00a0about developing the adaptability and confidence to navigate change thoughtfully.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

H: How did it feel to reconnect with the Hult community during the electives?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/span>F<\/span><\/b>: Honestly, \u201crewarding\u201d doesn\u2019t feel like a strong enough word. Looking back, I\u2019m proud of the communities and relationships I\u2019ve built through different stages of my life. There\u2019s a unique energy that comes from being surrounded by ambitious, curious, and supportive people.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Transitioning from a highly competitive athletic background into corporate life made me appreciate spaces that foster both personal growth and collaboration. Hult brings together people who are intelligent, driven, adventurous, and open to learning from one another.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That sense of community extends far beyond the classroom, which is a big part of what makes returning for electives such a meaningful experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

H: What would you say to alumni who are unsure about signing up for lifelong learning at Hult in 2026?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

F<\/span><\/b>:\u00a0I understand why some alumni may feel uncertain.\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0all navigating constant change. One thing\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0learned as a consultant in organizational transformation is that growth rarely happens at the \u201cperfect\u201d time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At Hult, we talk about being \u201cHult strong\u201d\u2014being leaders who show up fully in our careers while continuing to invest in ourselves through learning, new perspectives, and meaningful global connections. That mindset really stayed with me.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The electives are an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, explore topics like AI, digital transformation, and leadership, and reconnect with a community that challenges and inspires you. My advice? Stay curious, choose the subjects that genuinely excite you, and keep building skills that will help you grow. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
