Now, as a Junior Controller at Eurostampa North America, Marco is not only living his vision but also reshaping finance operations across continents.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We caught up with Marco to hear more about his inspiring internship journey, the power of practical learning, and why embracing challenge was the key to his success.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: What inspired you to pursue your current role and how did you find the opportunity?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fIt started close to home\u2014literally. Eurostampa has a facility just 10 kilometers from where I\u2019m from in Italy. I reached out to them directly, asking if they had roles available in the US. I knew they had plants in Cincinnati and Napa Valley. One email turned into an interview, which led to a conversation with the CFO in North America. I really appreciated how human and open the process was.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: What was it like when you received the job offer?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fIt felt like a milestone, a lifetime goal achieved. I had moved to the US with the aim of gaining meaningful work experience and getting that offer made it all real. I\u2019d sent a lot of applications, faced many rejections, but this one was different. I felt seen and valued for both my professional background and academic preparation.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: How did the Hult curriculum help prepare you for this opportunity?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fHult helped me close the gap between what I knew and what I needed to know to succeed. In Italy, I had been an accounting manager at a startup, but I didn\u2019t feel fully equipped. At Hult, it wasn\u2019t just theory, it was practical, team-based, deadline-driven work. Professors pushed us to meet real-world expectations.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: Any career support moments at Hult that stood out?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fAbsolutely. From week one, I connected with my career advisor, Kimberly Nicola. She took my CV\u2014beautifully Italian, but not quite fit for the U.S.\u2014and transformed it into something that got responses. She helped me every step of the way, reviewing my applications and encouraging me through setbacks. Her advice gave me clarity and direction.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: What\u2019s been the most challenging part of your role so far?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fThe manual processes I encountered. A lot of reporting was done by hand, increasing the chance of errors. But I was empowered to contribute towards Power BI and Power Query automation. I reduced a six-hour stock valuation process down to just five minutes. That project was later rolled out to the California and Mexico branches. It\u2019s been amazing to see the trust the CFO placed in me and how it\u2019s led to even greater responsibilities\u2014now I\u2019m working between Finance and IT to build out business intelligence dashboards.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: What\u2019s been your biggest lesson or takeaway from this experience?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fI\u2019d sum it up with three words:\u202f<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Respect. Discipline. Action.<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fHult instilled those in me, and I carried them into my internship. I\u2019ve also grown tremendously, moving alone to Cincinnati, leading projects, challenging outdated processes. The Marco who landed in Boston last September is not the same Marco today. I\u2019m more self-aware, more confident, and more capable.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: If you could go back to the start, what advice would you give yourself?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fDon\u2019t wait. I held back at first, unsure whether to speak up or pitch ideas. But the moment I decided to challenge myself, everything changed. Even if you make mistakes, they\u2019re just part of the learning. So I\u2019d tell myself: step into the spotlight. No one grows in the background.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Q: Finally, what advice do you have for other Hult students looking for internships?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202fDon\u2019t give up. And don\u2019t be afraid to go beyond conventional methods. Send personalized emails. Show up in person. Let people know you exist. And never underestimate yourself. I\u2019ve seen incredibly talented peers miss opportunities because they were too shy to promote themselves. You don\u2019t need arrogance, just belief. And remember, it\u2019s OK to start small. The journey up the ladder is where real growth happens.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Marco\u2019s story is a powerful reminder that initiative, preparation, and authenticity can open doors.
