It’s common knowledge to anyone in the Hult community that we learn by doing. It’s through experience\u2014trying, failing, and going again\u2014that we truly grow. Fitting, then, that to celebrate Hult turning 20, we’re rolling back the years to some of our students and staff’s 20th birthdays, and asking:<\/p>\n

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give to your 20-year-old self?<\/h2>\n

Yu<\/span> Hun (Stephanie) Tan, Global One-Year MBA, London campus<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

“Never compare your journey to others.<\/strong> Everyone is on their own little journey of life and our paths will look completely different. Some might reach their peak faster, and some might take a little longer\u2014that’s fine.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>So,<\/span> at the end of the day, everyone is just riding the waves of life at their own pace. <\/span>Don\u2019t<\/span> worry and <\/span>don\u2019t<\/span> rush\u2014<\/span>you\u2019ll<\/span> get to where you want to be at the right place\u2014and at the right time.<\/span><\/span>“<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“If I met my 20-year-old self, I’d tell her a lot of things, starting with<\/span>: <\/span>stop being a people pleaser.<\/strong> It’s not good for your mental health when you put others’ needs before yours. <\/span><\/span>Set boundaries,<\/span> take pride in who you are, and <\/span>don\u2019t<\/span> shy away from it!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Lastly, plan, plan, and keep planning; it keeps you organized. Set goals, figure out how to achieve them, and take the steps. Remember, girl! I love you and you are amazing and guess what\u2014in three years <\/span>you\u2019ll<\/span> be In San Francisco at Hult<\/span>. Crazy, right?”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams; are passionate about taking on new challenges<\/strong>; are courageous enough to pursue them; and are flexible enough to learn and adapt to change.<\/p>\n

Graduation is an exciting moment\u2014it signifies the end of warm memories and the beginning of the next beautiful phase of life, with bigger challenges and new commitments to face.”<\/p>\n

What will I always remember about Hult? As often as you will hear it, getting to integrate into the most culturally diverse community<\/strong> with a growth mindset is the best thing about Hult.
