Meet Asha: Hult\u2019s new mascot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Her instincts<\/strong> help her sniff out potential, her experience<\/strong> teaches her what to pursue, and her pack<\/strong> offers guidance in unfamiliar territory. What some might attribute to luck or chance, she\u2019s prepared to see as opportunity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

How does she do it? Where does she come from? Why is she here? We sat down with Asha for a Q&A to discover more.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Asha<\/p>\n

So, Asha, the question on everyone\u2019s mind is: why is there a leaf on your head?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s funny you ask it in that way. What\u2019s on your<\/em> mind when opportunity lands<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

Louis Pasteur said, \u201cChance favors the prepared mind,\u201d<\/em> and this is what the Hult education is all about: preparing you to be able to recognize and seize opportunity<\/strong>, whatever shape it comes in.<\/p>\n

So, put simply, the leaf represents opportunity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Can you expand on that some more?<\/h3>\n

The leaf also symbolizes the transient nature of opportunity<\/strong>: there one minute, gone the next.<\/p>\n

Some view opportunity as luck, some ephemeral thing that one has to be quick to grab when it randomly lands. And if that\u2019s true, then all we have control over is how we react when that opportunity presents itself.<\/p>\n

What mindset<\/strong> do we need to be able to see and seize that chance?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We\u2019re a business school: why have a mascot?<\/h3>\n

You know, it\u2019s my job to give all you fully-developed, well-rounded business people a way to interact with the lighter side of Hult and to experience its virtues playfully<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I serve as an extension of you<\/em>, to help you remember \u201call work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,\u201d to encourage balance<\/strong> even in our most serious pursuits. In my opinion, the real question is: why haven\u2019t you had a mascot sooner?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Hult student body voted on a wolf as our mascot, but you\u2019re unlike what we normally see.<\/h3>\n

I mean, Hult isn\u2019t your \u201cnormal\u201d business school, is it? You\u2019re not here for \u201caverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

As you might\u2019ve noticed, we are not home to an aggressive sports team (nor are we overcompensating for anything), so why bother with clich\u00e9d and outdated expressions of wolfish adrenaline?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yes, let\u2019s talk about your design.<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s a smart and thoughtful approach. There is something about me that suggests a larger story<\/strong>, and opens a door to discussing Hult\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

The black and white line drawing was specifically selected because it is the art style of every innovator in the world who put<\/strong> pencil to paper<\/strong> to create the first sketch, the new idea.<\/p>\n

The art style is about as \u201csophisticated\u201d as a cartoon character can be, if I say so myself. I don\u2019t have exaggerated features, I\u2019m true to scale. But I also look at you with inner strength and intelligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So, what are the traits that define you? What do you stand for?<\/h3>\n

I represent the same traits as any Hult student: an interest in the world<\/strong>, an open mind<\/strong>, a bold spirit<\/strong>, a creative intellect<\/strong>, and a resourceful attitude<\/strong>. Think of me as a totem for these values, a reminder every time you see my muzzle.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And where can we expect to see you?<\/h3>\n

You\u2019ll start to see my swag around campus, and they\u2019ll be making introductions at Campus Town Halls, but my big debut comes later this semseter.<\/p>\n
