Executive MBA alumni receives $120,000 Microsoft sponsorship
Hult alumnus and co-founder of Eventopedia, Alan Newton (Executive MBA, Class of 2014) is delighted to announce that Microsoft is now sponsoring Eventopedia through their BizSpark Plus program. The program is a global initiative which is focused on helping startups succeed.
Started in 2014, following his Executive MBA, Eventopedia is now the leading online community for corporate meetings and event planners. It has been described as the “Google and TripAdvisor for the events industry”. Eventopedia’s website was awarded the 2015 Innovation of the Year accolade by the Professional Publishers Association.
The founders of Eventopedia believe the investment is a significant stride forward will deliver huge value to users and clients. This sponsorship will enable Eventopedia to focus investments elsewhere, such as developing new features, extending destination coverage, investing in marketing, and customer acquisition.
Starting his own business was always a clear goal for Alan, who came to Hult to maximize his 16 years’ experience in event management industry.
