Dr. James Abdey is the LSE Fellow in Statistics having completed his doctorate there specializing in a methodological unification of statistical “schools” in quantifying the true evidential value of data. In 2010 he began teaching the MBA Quantitative Methods course at Hult's London campus, focusing on managerial decision making. From 2012, he is also responsible for delivering a range of quantitative courses across Hult’s suite of postgraduate programs, including Managerial Economics. Dr. Abdey has extensive experience developing learning resources for LSE’s distance learning and summer school programs in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, including lecturing spells in Central Asia and the Far East. Outside of academia, he has also undertaken various quantitative-based consultancy projects ranging from the hedge fund industry to the UK parliament, while his research interests include forensic statistics and market research techniques.
Professor Hamza Abdurezak’s professional background blends academics, financial services industry and government experiences. In his academics career, he has taught graduate level corporate finance, investment management, financial management and investments courses at Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Extension & Summer Schools, the Fletcher School, Brandeis University’s International Business School and University and University of Monterrey in Mexico.
His financial services industry experience include position of founder and chief executive officer of Risknomics, Inc., a firm that specializes in portfolio and risk management consulting for institutional investors such as pension funds, endowments, foundations and hedge funds. Some of his past client lists include University of Connecticut Foundation, Utah Pension, RYSE Inc. Lasair Capital, Manhattan Family Office and Capital Market Risk Advisers in NYC. He also served as an economist in the Ethiopian government prior to joining Harvard.
Dr. Abdurezak received a bachelor's degree in economics from Addis Ababa University, a master's degree from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a PhD from Tufts University. He has also earned Financial Risk Manager (FRM) designation from Global Association of Risk Professional (GARP). His favorite sport is basketball and he is a loyal fan of the Boston Celtics.
Professor Saghbini specializes in Quantitative Analysis & Decision Making for Business. He is also an active academic researcher in Middle Eastern Studies and Conflict Resolution. At Hult, he teaches a range of Business courses including Accounting, Quantitative Methods and Risk Analysis. Professor Saghbini is a fellow at the Royal Statistical Society and a member of Political Studies Association PSA UK for which he publishes regular articles that reflect his interests. His most recent publication is a book entitled “Introduction to Quantitative Research Methods for Business”. Hisham is in the process of writing his Ph.D. as a quantitative analysis of the role of minorities in the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Nicholas J. Amdur has over forty years of line, staff and executive policy experience in engineering, manufacturing, computer systems and education settings. Associated with Hult since 2005, Nick teaches MBA courses in Operations Management. In 2011, he was appointed Discipline Lead for the Operations/IT/Project Management arena. and previously served as Chair of the Faculty Operating Committee. In 2012, Nick was appointed Global Dean of Faculty, responsible for the direction of 170 faculty across five worldwide locations.
He has been a faculty member at Northeastern University, Bentley College, Boston University, and Simmons College, teaching graduate and executive courses in Operations Management and served as Director, Executive Programs at Boston University's School of Management.
His industrial career includes Vice‑President, Operations at Jet Spray Corporation, Director of Materials and Logistics at Parker Brothers, Director of Corporate Manufacturing and Manager, Business and Operations Planning at The Foxboro Company. In 1989, Nick established Amdur Associates, an operations consulting firm that focuses on enterprise and supply-chain solutions in operations, logistics, materials and information systems.
Margaret Andrews is Associate Provost at Hult International Business School. In this role, Margaret will manage the global academic team across campuses in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai and provide leadership for academic activities in the graduate programs.
Prior to working at Hult, Margaret was Associate Dean at Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education. As academic and administrative dean for management programs, she set and executed program strategy, recruited and developed faculty, and designed and developed courses and programs. During her tenure, she launched new management and certificate programs, increased the number and variety of course offerings, grew enrollments, and launched a series of short professional development programs and grew them not a successful business of open enrollment programs. She also designed, developed and taught a number of on-campus, online and hybrid courses, as well as two-day professional development programs.
Preceding Harvard, Andrews was Executive Director at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she managed the MBA Program, Admissions, Student Affairs, and Career Development for the MBA Program, and Marketing, Alumni Relations, and the MIT Sloan Management Review for the entire MIT Sloan School.
Professor Anthony has pursued a dual career as a general management consultant and an educator. As a consultant, he has a broad practice in assisting global corporate clients in the areas of change management, strategy innovation, and leadership development. His experience includes working with groups and teams across levels, functions, industries, and geographies to develop competitive visions, solve problems, implement strategies, and build capabilities. Rob holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB, magna cum laude, from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He is currently a PhD candidate at Bentley College and lives in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Leslie D. Ball is an Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management. He was a Partner with Computer Science Corporation’s Systems Integration Company where he managed an international business processing reengineering management consulting practice and directed the Executive Education Practice at CSC Index. Dr. Ball has consulted with over 100 major companies in the United States, Europe, Canada, and South America and focuses on helping senior executives understand the business impact of new computer technologies. His clients have included British Airways, AT&T, Nortel, IBM, IBM Europe, Continental Airlines, Houghton Mifflin, and Gillette. Dr. Ball served on the Massachusetts’ Governor’s Task Force on e-Government. He is a Trustee of the Boston Chapter of the Society for Information Management (SIM).
Thea Bellos is the principal of The Bellos Group, a global marketing and management consulting firm, which was founded in 1991. Prior to establishing the Bellos Group, she was the Director of Marketing and Communications of EIP Associates, an environmental consulting firm; and, Director of Development of the Oakland Ballet, a national dance touring company. Ms. Bellos has taught international marketing, market research and strategic marketing courses at Golden Gate University’s Ageno School of Business and she was the recipient of the University’s Stanley Price Adjunct Faculty Award for distinguished service. Bellos has led training/seminars on cross-cultural communication and negotiations, and she has taught strategic marketing and international management courses at UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, Dominican University of California, St. Mary’s College of California and Macquarie University’s study abroad program on The Scholar Ship. At Hult she will be teaching international marketing in the Master of Digital Marketing program. She is also currently working with an international team in the development of The Global Stewards Institute, a non-profit organization, and serving as the President of the Board of Directors. An avid traveler and photographer, Ms. Bellos exhibits her photographs throughout the Bay Area and she participates in the EBOS Pro Arts Open Studio and the Berkeley Artisans Holiday Open Studio annually.

Ashley Boots is a freelance professional with international industry experience, mainly across the emerging markets of the Middle East and Africa. Her experience in multi-national corporations has taken her across different functional areas, including accounting and finance, project management, and HR Operations. Her specialty is in business transformation, with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence, as well as the creation of Centers of Excellence (CoEs). While working at General Electric, she not only gained expertise as a transformation leader, but also through heading the UAE Hub of the GE Women’s Network. Ashley values diversity and is passionate about coaching and empowering others.
Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in International Finance and Economics, from Babson College, USA. She also completed an Executive MBA at Hult International Business School where she received the Academic Excellence Award as the best performing student globally. Ashley is an Adjunct Professor at Hult, Dubai campus, where she teaches Quantitative Analysis.
W. Christian Buss, PhD is professor emeritus of Business at SUNY/Albany. He teaches Executive MBA programs with the Hult International Business School, Rotterdam School of Management, University of Maryland, Leiden University, Lorange Institute of Business (Zurich), Temple University and private organizations. His PhD in Marketing is from the Wharton School. He is a columnist on global strategy for the American Business Journals. He has written freelance articles for a variety of business publications. Buss is the author of the forthcoming book, 'A Business Professor’s Guide to Practical Living'.
In 2008, Bill left investment banking and has been teaching Corporate Finance in the Executive MBA Program at San Francisco State University and Financial Decision Making at the University of San Francisco. Both courses focused on financial analysis, capital budgeting, capital markets, valuation, and financing strategies. He spent half of his career in investment banking and half in commercial banking. As an investment banker, he advised privately held and small cap companies in mergers and acquisitions and in raising equity and mezzanine capital. He received a MBA from the University of California at Berkeley with an emphasis in finance and marketing. His banking experience gives him a very strong background in corporate finance with particular emphasis on capital structure, corporate valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy. As an investment banker, he has completed transactions in numerous industry sectors including retail, internet, clean-tech, education, service, catalog, manufacturing, subcontractors, software, and distribution as well as advised companies in all stages of growth: startup, expansion, and mature firms. As a commercial banker, he has experience as a commercial lender, cash manager, and managed Union Bank’s commercial banking activities in Northern California. Bill is currently doing transactions as a sole practitioner and through the Taproot Foundation providing pro bono consulting to non-profits on developing their strategic plans.
Mr. Carney is originally from Harlem, New York, was raised in several African countries and educated in Europe and The U.S.A..
Mr. Carney obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Wayne State University while employed with General Motors Corporation. He was subsequently appointed Manager, Fleet and Government Sales, Africa. In this role he was responsible for developing several automotive assembly agreements, i.e. Tunisia, Morocco, Iran.
He subsequently held various marketing and planning positions within the corporation, involving relations with Japanese, German and U.S. subsidiaries and associate companies. He was also a Director of the Corporation’s countertrade and compensation subsidiary, Motors Trading Corporation, focusing predominantly on Africa.
He was the first recipient of the General Motors International Fellowship, under which he completed his M.B.A. at CEI, Geneva (now IMD, Lausanne). He subsequently joined the faculty of CEI / IMI-GENEVA in 1984, and was Program Director of the International Seminar In Industrial Marketing at IMI and subsequently IMD, Lausanne from 1984 until 1991.
Prior to joining Hult, Bill was a Professor of International Marketing at the IE Business School in Madrid from 1987 until 2012 , when he decided to return to the U.S.A. In 2010 he created a new course focusing upon neuro-marketing, “Massaging the Mind” which was the most popular elective course for several years. Professor Carney has received several awards for teaching excellence.
From 1999 to 2004 he was a consultant to CREATE, a Swiss high-tech start-up vehicle at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, (the Swiss MIT). He is also visiting professor at Thunderbird, visiting professor at BMI, Lithuania, and was Visiting Assistant Professor at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he pursued Ph.D. studies in International Marketing and Entrepreneurship early in his career.
From 2006 until 2013, Mr. Carney was Managing Director of The Assegai Group, a company involved in marketing services and training. He simultaneously served as Executive Director of Laughing Bear Productions Ltd., a music and multimedia production company involved in commercials, corporate sponsorship and marketing promotions.
He has provided input on global strategy and innovation to companies such as Danfoss, Coloplast, Nestle and numerous others.
Mr. Carney is an internationally known lecturer and has worked with companies large and small in Europe, the U.S., the Caribbean, Africa and Asia. His current research interests include neuro-marketing, international trade flows, customer management, e-commerce and the psychology of music.
Adam Carstens is Director of Research for Hult International Business School and a member of the team at Hult Labs, the newly created global research initiative based out of Hult’s San Francisco campus. In addition to teaching, Adam is also helping the Hult Labs team conduct original research on what's needed in business education, and will help design new learning approaches in the classroom based on this research.
Before coming to Hult, Adam led consulting engagements for Harvard Business School Professor John Kotter's consulting firm, Kotter International. Prior to that, he was the first non-Japanese full-time faculty member at Globis, Japan’s largest business school in Tokyo, Japan and helped design their International MBA program. He has also helped teach classes at the Annenberg School for Communications at USC and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also served as a political aide for a U.S. Senator and Congressman in Washington, DC.
He received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and lives in Belmont, California with his wife, son and daughter.
Professor Chartier has worked 21 years in banking within the financial services groups American Express, Dresdner Bank, and Bank of Boston. His banking expertise ranges from credit analysis to domestic and cross-border lending, treasury sales, foreign exchange and interest risk hedging advisory services. As Director of Institutional Treasury sales at American Express Bank in London, his geographic customer base encompassed 15 countries spanning from Europe to the Middle East, and Africa. He has taught Economics and Finance, in various colleges and universities in the Boston area, including Babson College, Boston University, Suffolk University, and The New England College of Finance. Frédéric is the 2005 recipient of the Edward F. Shaughnessy Outstanding Faculty Award, presented by the New England College of Finance.
Dr. Chavez has had an active career as an international professor. He has taught undergraduate, graduate and executive courses in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. Holding multiple recognitions for teaching excellence, Prof. Chavez has collaborated as professor, academic director and visiting professor in various academic institutions such as Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, Babson College (United States.), Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile), the European School of Management and Technology (Germany) and the Instituto de Empresa Business School (Spain).
Professor Chavez’s research focus has resulted in published work that covers both practitioner and academic journals. His most recent work has concentrated on corporate governance, transparency and financial crises in emerging and developed markets as well as analyzing the resilience of microfinance institutions to crises conditions. He is also currently studying the impact of culture in investors’ value perception when Enterprise Application implementations are announced. His work has been published in the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Ethics, among others.
As consultant, Dr. Chavez has worked in firm valuation and has counseled interest groups on the use of derivative instruments for risk hedging purposes. In the field of professional training, Professor Chavez is an active user of financial simulation and its application in investments and risk hedging. Professor Chavez has used this tool in the international training of executives and stock exchange management teams in emerging markets.
Alan has thirty years of experience in business planning, corporate finance, and valuation consulting with extensive experience in the preparation of valuation estimates for accounting and tax purposes. He has been a trusted adviser to numerous major clients in non-financial industries including chemicals, health care, manufacturing, and energy and information technology. He has managed client service teams valuing businesses and intangible assets for tax and financial reporting in connection with mergers and acquisitions for over twenty years. He also has been a frequent lecturer and author on topics such as improving shareholder value, exploiting intellectual property and valuation of businesses and corporate intangible assets.
He helped to establish policies and best practices within the valuation practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, Standard & Poor’s and Duff & Phelps, LLC. These included quality assurance processes, training and professional development and recruiting. He acted as a judge for the first Duff & Phelps national student case study competition. Alan retired as Managing Director, Duff & Phelps, August 2010.
Alan received an AB in mathematics from Cornell University and an SM in management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
Julie Yao Cooper is on the faculty of Hult International Business School, where she has taught courses in marketing, business case methodology, consulting, and quantitative methods since 2004.
Professor Cooper has over two decades of consulting experience in business strategy, corporate education and market research. Her current work focuses on ways to accelerate development of critical thinking and communications skills needed by future business leaders working in multicultural environments. In market research, Professor Cooper’s engagements integrate state-of-the-art qualitative and quantitative research techniques to transform abstract data into actionable insights. Past organizations that have benefited from Ms. Cooper’s expertise include American Express, BBDO, Merck and Planned Parenthood.
Professor Cooper has lead consulting engagements with the Monitor Group, a global strategy-consulting firm. She was a founding principal with Mavens & Moguls, LLC, a marketing consultancy. Her corporate background includes in-house positions with Goldman Sachs, IBM, and Procter & Gamble. As a researcher and doctoral candidate in marketing at Harvard Business School, Professor Cooper published papers on customer loyalty, consumer behavior and marketing strategy.
Professor Cooper holds an A.B. in Economics with honors from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has studied piano at the Juilliard School of Music, and speaks Mandarin Chinese. Professor Cooper currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband and two young children.
Karen has 20 years of experience in developing strategies, partnerships and teams to accelerate the profitable growth of technology-oriented organizations in new markets. Currently, she is the Vice President of Strategy and Impact at TechSoup Global and her team is responsible for maximizing the social and financial impact of this global nonprofit organization.
Karen has a unique blend of direct experience with start-ups, social enterprises, and high-tech multinational firms including Vital Wave Consulting, Telcordia Technologies, AT&T, and the Peace Corps. Throughout her career, she has delivered millions of dollars of incremental revenue through the creation of compelling sales and marketing strategies and by adeptly managing programs and teams across the globe including in India, China and Mexico. Karen is passionate about the power of technology to transform people’s lives and she improved the performance of 100+ technology-centric social enterprises from around the world by creating specialized training courses, identifying and connecting entrepreneurs to critical resources, and providing one-on-one advice and mentoring.
Karen earned her MA and PhD in International Business Relations at Tufts University and graduated from California State University, Chico with a joint B.S. in Business Administration and Spanish. She is fluent in Spanish and lived in Latin America nearly 10 years.
Dr. Courtin has extensive experience as the CEO for a series of successful high-tech, Boston-based companies. As CEO, he negotiated alliances, joint ventures, and partnership agreements in more than 30 countries. Dr. Courtin currently serves on the boards of directors of Kashya Inc. and OpenNetwork.

as an advisor to the President of the National Bank of Hungary and was Chief of Staff for the Budget, Tax, and Finance Committee of the Hungarian Parliament. Professor Dalko’s valuable

Educated at Oxford, where he read English Literature, Roger is Director of the Ashridge Executive Masters in Management, and a Subject Leader on the Ashridge MBA and EMBA programmes. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Hult International Business School where he has taught on MBA and EMBA programmes since 2009. In 2012 he had the great honour to be elected Professor of the Year by his MBA students.
His particular interests are authentic leadership and organisational politics. He believes that good leadership is grounded in a clear and insightful understanding of universal principles and closely examined personal values, coupled with an understanding of what drives personal behaviour.
Roger has taught all over the world, including most of the EU countries, North and South America, The Lebanon, Turkey, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, the UAE, Qatar and Oman. He is very experienced at teaching and working with multi-cultural groups. He is qualified in a range of psychometrics including MBTI, Firo-B, Profilor, SDI and Emotional Intelligence, and is an enthusiastic supporter of Transactional Analysis as a tool for improving self-awareness and interpersonal communication.
During his first career, Roger was a board director and account director with global top ten advertising agency DMB&B, working with P&G, Mars/Masterfoods, Sterling Health, Johnson Wax and others. He was for some years Client services Director of DMB&B Dublin, an office he opened on a greenfield site. Later he was for six years Principal Consultant at management development consultancy Ellis Hayward, and later still, he spent a further six years as Programme Director in Cranfield School of Management's Centre for Customised Executive Education. He was a recent guest editor of a special edition of the Journal of Public Affairs which focused on ethics in business, and he is regularly published, and has recently had a book on management commissioned by Pearson Publishing.
Dr. Daniel Deneffe is a Professor of Managerial Economics and Global Strategy. He is Hult’s Discipline Lead of Strategy and Economics. Deneffe also teaches ‘Applied Strategy in the Real World’ at Harvard University’s Extension School.
Deneffe is also an independent consultant and a senior advisor to a number of strategy consulting companies. Prior to going on his own in 2013, he was a consultant with Arthur D. Little, the world’s first management consulting firm, for 18 years. He joined the company in 1995 and was elected to partner 5 years later. Deneffe’s areas of expertise include:
Prior to joining Arthur D. Little, Deneffe was a full time faculty member at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He has published widely in Arthur D. Little’s Prism but also in journals such as Management Science, Harvard Business Review blog, the International Journal of Industrial Organization, Managerial and Decision Economics and Health Policy.
Dr. Dhillon holds a PhD in Management and Technology and an MS in Information Systems Technology from The George Washington University, and a BA in Psychology from Emory University.
Nawtej (Nuff) Dosanjh has about 20 years of experience in the corporate sector, predominantly as a senior Risk and Compliance Manager for the U.K.’s largest banking group, and as a retained Consultant and Compliance Officer for companies such SAP (U.K. and Germany), Bank of Ireland, Lloyds TSB Bank, and Nationwide Building Society. His academic interests center on Risk, Sustainability, and Corporate Performance, and, in collaboration with partners in the corporate sector, the development of a Project Management methodology which is designed to deliver immediate and recurring business value. He remains actively engaged in the business sector.
Dr. Ian Dougal earned his undergraduate degree from Swansea University, his Masters degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and his PhD (in International Relations) from the University of Birmingham. His research is focused on the role of the United States in the world order. He joined Hult in 2000, as a professor of International Relations, teaching classes in Diplomacy & Negotiation, International Security, and American Foreign Policy. Dr. Dougal was appointed Dean of the London campus in 2007, and from this post has overseen the development of both undergraduate and master's programs. In August 2011 Dr. Dougal took on the role of Dean of Programs and was responsible for global curriculum and policy, and the maintenance of academic quality across all Hult's campuses. In October 2013, Dr. Dougal left his position as Dean of Programs to take on his current post of Global Dean, Undergraduate.
Professor Durr received a double degree B.S. in Computer Information Systems and Telecommunications Management, and an M.A. in Mass Communications all from Syracuse University; an M.B.A. focusing on International Business and Marketing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor; a J.D. from the University of Kansas, and has progressed towards candidacy (ABD) in the Doctoral Program at Golden Gate University with a specialization in International Business. He has taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level for business programs at San Jose State University, Menlo College, Golden Gate University, Santa Clara University, Loyola Marymount University, Fordham University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Jiaotong University, The University of Belize, and others. He was awarded competitive teaching commendations from several of the programs. Professor Durr has lived and worked overseas (primarily Asia) and is continuing his study of Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin Chinese Languages. His research interests include leveraging information technology for competitive advantage, brand management in developing markets and cross-cultural communications. In addition to business services consulting to technology companies in the Silicon Valley for over 6 years, professor Durr has studied Post-Graduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and at the graduate program in East Asia Studies (China focus) at the University of California at Los Angeles. Professor Edmunds specializes in finance with particular interest in the areas of capital markets and emerging markets, international finance, and derivatives. A member of the faculty at Babson College, he has teaching experience at other Boston universities as well as in Spain, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.
Dr Mike Edwards teaches the course 'Global Crises' at HULT. He has a doctorate in the security implications of climate change from Macquarie University (Sydney), an MSc in Environmental Policy from Wye College (now Imperial College, London) and a degree in Geography from University College London (UCL). Before joining HULT, Mike worked as Climate Change Advisor for a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which worked to alleviate poverty in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Mike is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS) and a member of Biomimicry for Creative Innovation (BCI). He is a renowned public speaker having given lectures and talks on climate change and other environmental issues around the world. Mike is also a professional musician and founder of the highly acclaimed band: Didjitalis.
Prof. Escamilla has extensive work experience with Procter & Gamble in the Finance and Accounting department. He developed and implemented a cost forecasting system adopted in all Latin America production plants earning him the “P&G Stewardship Manager of the Year Award 2005”. He also developed an automated tool to read SAP data and build custom financial reports for top management decision making. He conducted competitive intelligence analyses to forecast competitor’s pricing and new product launches.
Prior to P&G, he developed an inventory control system for the largest Spanish-language book publisher as well as a Pedagogic System to teach Accounting to college students. Prof. Escamilla has extensive experience in C, C++, Visual Basic and VBA, PowerBuilder, Spreadsheets and Databases. He has participated in SAP implementations. Prof. Escamilla has designed and led several market research studies for launching new products and ventures in the Middle East. He has implemented databases, programmed systems and participated in census for The National Institute of Statistic and Geography in Mexico and the Foreign Affairs Ministry through the Mexican Consulate in Dubai.
He has taught Integral and Differential Calculus in the largest private university in Mexico and currently teaches Quantitative Analysis for Hult International Business School.

Andrew Field has a PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures (Columbia University, 2001). David B. Flood, lecturer on “Sustainability.” Mr. Flood has a B.A. in History from the University of Delaware (1978) and a Master’s in International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh (1980). Starting with Strategic Planning Associates in 1980 his work as a management consultant has spanned the full range of manufacturing and service industries, public and parastatal entities, trade associations, development banks and related international and bilateral aid agencies. After working as a commodities broker on Wall St., Flood was an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations on secondment to the World Bank, a research fellow at the World Resources Institute, the manager of a UN trade publishing group, and an independent consultant to government, industry and civic bodies. A web strategy pioneer, Philippa Gamse has been working with Internet applications since 1991. She currently teaches digital marketing at Hult in San Francisco.
Originally from the UK, Philippa obtained a post-graduate qualification in Library Science from University College, London. She has 10 years of corporate experience in Europe, including several years as a consultant for Deloitte, before founding her own US-based consulting and speaking practice in 1995.

His principal research interests lie in the field of change management and organizational psychology. His PhD research he investigated, from the management point of view, the impact that an acquisition had on the employees of a newly formed Insurance Company and the way management aimed to achieve a sound organisational environment via the provision of information to employees and their subsequent appreciation of that information.
His future research plans are develop the Framework of Issues he has created and to extend his work to explore in more detail how communication and power structures operate in the period of uncertainty before an acquisition is complete. In addition, he would like to add to his existing research by conducting a comparative study to understand whether acquisitions involving different types of organisation result in particular patterns of employee behaviour.

He serves as lead Faculty Advisor to the Hult VC and Social Business Clubs and chairs the Hult SF Operations Committee. He was also named the Hult SF Professor most engaged with students outside of the classroom and won a Faculty Peer Recognition Award for his exemplary efforts. Dr. Green is an American economist who, until recently lived in Asia since the mid-1980s. He received his undergraduate education at the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has served as an economist on the U.S. Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. and as a tenured professor of economics at Hosei University, Tokyo. For most of the last two decades he worked at the Asian Development Bank. In both Southeast Asia and in Central Asia he drafted country strategies and conducted research on a wide variety of economic topics. He served as the Country Director for ADB in Indonesia. He was instrumental in ADB’s regional cooperation efforts: initiating the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program and, as Director for the Southeast Asian regional cooperation unit, coordinating the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) initiative. He was a Research Fellow at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila from 2009-2012, until moving to San Francisco’s Bay Area to teach Global Economics at Hult. He has published extensively in academic journals, for the Asian Development Bank, and op-ed pieces both in Asia and in the United States.
Professor Gregoriou joined HULT in September 2012, as an Adjunct Professor of Finance. Professor Gregoriou has held senior management positions in various academic institutions throughout his career including Hull University, Brunel University and the University of East Anglia. A leading authority of finance, he has published over one hundred research papers in internationally recognized journals and generated over £5 million in research funding. He is a regular consultant for the CFA and the London Stock Exchange.

Virginia Greiman is an expert on economic development, international law, and project management and finance. She is widely sought for her advice on mega-projects and infrastructure development. Prof. Groth holds Ph.D., M.A.L.D., M.A.I.P.S. and B.A. degrees in International Affairs with concentrations in business, economics, technology and negotiation from the Fletcher School and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He also studied negotiation at Harvard, trade economics at Georgetown University and finance at UC Berkeley.
Ronan is Associate Dean in London with responsibility for student affairs; previously having overall responsibility for the Executive MBA, Masters in International Marketing and Masters in Social Entrepreneurship programs.
Prior to this role, Ronan was Associate Professor teaching marketing and technology courses on the Masters, MBA and Executive MBA programmes, was the Discipline Lead for Marketing and was voted Professor of the Year three times in 2012.
Ronan joined Hult from Ashridge Business School where he designed, developed and delivered its digital strategy for online communications, digital marketing, social media, communities and the user-experience for online learning.

Prior to that, Ronan's first career was focused on music, voice and entertainment, with a variety of overlapping roles, which included managing groups for an independent record company; creating and managing websites; producing and presenting an English language programme on local radio; recording voiceovers for productions such as industrial training and children's cartoons; and also translating and teaching English.

Aleksander Grzeszczak has for the past 10 years been a senior advisor to Value Discovery Partners (VDP), a major private equity investment fund focused on emerging markets, particularly on South Eastern Europe. Alek has executed a number of acquisitions in the region and is currently responsible for restructuring of the operating companies, executing business plans, acquiring and divesting portfolio companies. Prior to VDP, Alek was a Vice President in the Telecom Investment Banking group of Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup Corporate & Investment Bank), where he spent 5 years, first in the New York office and later in London. In that role, he executed a number of advisory, M&A, equity and debt financing transactions for SSB’s American and European clients. Alek is a finance faculty member at Judge Business School, Cambridge University. He is a graduate of Columbia Business School, where he received a joint MBA (finance) /MIA (international business) degree. He also holds a M.Sc. degree in Telecom and Electrical Engineering.
Pat has served in senior management, information technology, manufacturing, distribution, product management, and business development roles with Hewlett Packard, Advance Micro Devices, PSB, Ariba, and SpinCircuit, where he was President and CEO. Pat’s experience includes early stage business planning and the rapid scaling of technology based ventures. PSB was a B2B e-commerce outsourcing start up, Ariba was a pioneer, and leader in B2B e-Commerce and SpinCircuit was a pioneer in the electronics design and manufacturing space through its use of early web services technology. SpinCircuit was selected a Laureate in the Computerworld Honors Program: A Search for New Heroes--2001.

Bill Hancock is Hult Global Professor of Accounting and Finance. Previously Bill served as Acting Dean of Hult Boston. He was elected Hult “Professor of the Year” in 2012.
Prior to joining Hult, Bill spent over twenty years as a management consultant with IBM Global Systems, Ernst & Young, and Keane. He also was a divisional marketing manager at Digital Equipment Corporation, a position that led him to build and manage the world’s first business-to-business eCommerce site. This business had online sales over $1.3 billion and was profitable from the first year of operation.
Bill has served as an adjunct professor at Babson College and Northeastern University where he taught accounting, finance, entrepreneurial studies, information technology, eBusiness and management courses. He was elected “Outstanding Instructor of the Year” at Northeastern University.

Max Hejazi is a Canadian citizen of Middle Eastern descent. He has been living and working in Shanghai since 2004. After a short career as a medical scientist, Max obtained his MBA from McGill University In 2003 and moved to China shortly after. He started as a Training and Marketing Manager in a local state-owned hotel before starting his own business as a freelance corporate trainer in Shanghai. Alan Hertz is American by birth, but grew up largely in India and Pakistan. He has been teaching university students since 1975 and has been working in American international education since 1978. He has been at Hult for twenty years. His chief research interests are in Victorian poetry and journalism. His teaching specialties include the history of London, the cultural history of Britain, introductory courses in history, humanities, literature, and theater. His philosophy of teaching at Hult is to make as much use as possible of our greatest assets; the wonderful diversity of our student body and the overwhelming cultural resources of London. For over twenty-five years John Kerrick has had professional experience as a manager, educator, coach, and consultant in a variety of settings, most notably Dartmouth College, Outward Bound, Boston University’s award winning Executive Challenge Program, the Center for Executive Development, and his own training and development firm. His current work is focused on effective teamwork and executive coaching.
Dr. Farzad Rafi Khan graduated with a PhD in Strategy and Organization from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 2005. Dr. Khan’s PhD dissertation was co-supervised by Professor Henry Mintzberg rated by the Financial Times of London as one of the top ten most important management thinkers alive today. He also has a Masters in Economics of Developing Countries from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor with Great Distinction from McGill University in Accounting and Finance. Dr. Khan has 15 years of international teaching experience at universities in Canada, China, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. While at McGill University, Dr. Khan received the “Teacher of the Year Award” in 2000. He has also been involved in executive development programs with organizations such as Nestle, Siemens, Telenor, and Teradata. In terms of research, Dr. Khan has published in academic journals in the business and management field (e.g., Human Relations, Organization, Organization Studies, and Journal of Business Ethics). His research interests center on business ethics, corporate social responsibility, critical approaches in management, and organization theory. Dr. Khan is a consultant to the Karachi School for Business and Leadership (KSBL) and will be joining it as an Associate Professor in January 2013.
Tony Kilbourn combines a career in marketing consulting and executive teaching. He brings nearly thirty years sales and marketing experience in consumer-facing organizations. He has worked for GSK and Mars in the food, personal care and pharmaceutical sectors. His work has always been international in scope having worked in Italy and France, and holding responsibilities in Asia Pacific, Europe and US. As a consultant, Tony has worked for several multinational companies developing strategies for growth. He is also associate of Ashridge Business School working on both tailored and qualification programs. He has a particular interest in competitive strategy: how to differentiate one’s product or service through clearer positioning, new features and benefits, or new claims. Tony read Psychology as part of the Natural Sciences tripos at Cambridge University, and has an MBA at INSEAD.
Chris brings a wide variety of experiences to his academic life; as a British army officer, he led a Mobile News Team in the Former Yugoslavia in the last months of the civil war, providing images and reports seen by millions around the world, returning as the NATO Spokesman in Bosnia a short time later. As the Managing Director of C3i Strategic Solutions, he has taught several world leaders how to get their messages across to their audiences and how to create strategic messages for their country or organisation. He has been published in many professional journals for his insights on Crisis Communication & Crisis Management and is currently the EU-appointed Strategic Communications advisor to the National Transitional Council in Libya.
Kosmas joined Hult in 2004 as Head of the Computing Department. He specializes in the computer networks filed but also has long experience in teaching a broad range of computing related courses from Business Information Systems to Web Development.
Kosmas has taught in a number of British institutions before Hult in both undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as in adult further education courses - most notably at City University, Middlesex University and the University of Westminster. He still has a visiting lecturer relationship with some of them.
Christopher (Chris) Kummer is a Professor of Business and Director of MBA and Executive Education at Webster University in Vienna, Austria, President of the Institute of Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) in Zurich, Switzerland, and an Affiliate Professor at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Grenoble, France. He teaches strategy and finance related courses and trainings in bachelor, graduate, doctoral and executive education programs in Europe and Asia. As an Advisor, Chris Kummer supports companies on their strategy formulation and execution and the acquisition and sale of companies. He has been involved in transactions and alliances in every stage (from strategy to integration and post acquisition review) and every size (from small to large) with a total known transaction value of more than 12 bil. EUR. He supports governments as well as intergovernmental organizations explore the opportunities of M&A. He is the founder of Kummer Investment & Advisory with offices in Zurich, Lausanne, Lugano and Vienna. Before that he has led an M&A practice at the world's largest professional services firm and recruited non-executive and executive board members for listed and privately held companies in Europe and the United States. His articles have been published in several languages. He is often invited as a speaker to conferences and a frequently sought after commentator with national and international media, e.g. Bloomberg, CNN, Dow Jones, Financial Times, and Reuters.
Mr. Kusterer began his career in China in 2008 as head teacher of first year undergraduate students at
Shantou University Business School. Since then, he has taken on professional roles in strategy, finance,
research, and project management, and currently manages a global media research team focused on developing tools for media measurement, data tracking, and data analysis. In his time as a professional in China, he has achieved numerous career milestones, including meeting such figures as United States President Bill Clinton, Philippines President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and Papua New Guinea Deputy Prime Minister Sir Puka Temu. He has also been quoted in New York Times newspaper, received numerous industry awards, and appeared as a talk show guest on the ICS program Culture Matters. His research has been published by government organizations such as U.S. Commercial Service and UK Trade and Investment, as well as private organizations such as Bloomberg Terminal.Mr. Kusterer began instructing at HULT International Business School in October 2013, and in his first term achieved a Teaching Excellence Award, an award given to the top five teaching faculty per module, for his instruction of Business Math. He holds a BS in Business Administration from North Dakota State University.
Before joining Hult in Dubai as Associate Dean and Professor of Management Communication, Dr. Kuzniarski taught at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where she also engaged in curriculum development and research on intercultural aspects of professional communication.
Jun Lai is the General Manager of Booking.com for Greater China Region since 2012. Booking.com is world’s largest provider of online accommodations. He is based in Shanghai. Prior to this role Jun worked for Hilton Worldwide, 7 years in the US managing hotels in New York metro markets and 4 years in China overseeing revenue management function.
Jun was an adjunct professor for New York University, teaching pricing and revenue management courses for both undergraduate & graduate classes. He is a contributing author for text book ‘Hospitality and Tourism: An Industry Primer’ published in 2007.
Joanne Lawrence is a Professor of Global Citizenship and Corporate Social Responsibility at Hult International Business School and is an academic advisor to the UN Global Compact. With extensive international corporate and consulting experience, she has worked with many multinational companies, global organizations, and smaller, socially-focused enterprises and start-ups. Dr. Marple has taught finance and investment banking at Hult and its predecessor organizations. Over the years he has played a major role in building the MBA program. He is a tenured professor at Northeastern University where he teaches business finance, investment banking and international finance. At Northeastern he has chaired almost every faculty committee known to humankind. He earned an AB degree from Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and MBA and doctoral degrees from Harvard. The business cases he has written present financial management problems faced in atypical organizations. Currently he is a member of the Hult Curriculum Committee.
Francesco holds a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from University of Bologna (Italy) and a Master in from Electronic Engineering and Information Technology from Polytechnic of Milan (Italy) with studies also in France and the US. He has over 25 years of professional experience in industry and academia acquired in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific. Based in Shanghai since 2006, he was VP Technology, Strategy & Marketing for Alcatel-Lucent in Asia-Pacific and recently VP of NewBridge Partners Asia, an operational consulting firm. Previously he has been Chief Technical Officer of Alcatel in Italy and Head of Research and Innovation of Alcatel in the US. He has lectured at University of Bologna, Polytechnic of Milan, Chalmers University and Skema Business School. He is passionate of sports, still involved in various start-ups and university boards and has authored >100 articles and 10 international patents.
Donelda is an Associate Professor of Marketing who has taught in the United Arab Emirates (AUS and UOWD), Hong Kong (HKUST), Canada (McMaster and Ryerson), England (Bradford and Leeds Business School) and she was inaugural faculty onboard the ocean-going university, The Scholar Ship. She has taught EMBA, MBA, Masters, Undergraduate and Adult Education classes across a range of marketing subjects. Herb Meiberger was first elected to a five-year term on the Retirement Board in 1992, and has served for 20 years in that capacity. The Retirement Board oversees the $15.4 billion (6/31/2011) Defined Benefit pension fund and the voluntary $2.0 billion Defined Contribution fund. Mr. Meiberger was hired by the Retirement System in 1986 as a security analyst and has worked in several capacities, including directly managing and overseeing the fixed income portfolios, monitoring compliance of the asset managers and working on the alternative investment portfolio. He retired in 2006 after twenty years of service. He earned a B.A. in mathematics and chemistry from the University of South Dakota and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1987, and has taught CFA® review courses for the Stalla/Becker Educational program. In addition, he teaches corporate finance and investments at San Francisco State University. Mr. Meiberger serves on the advisory board of the Pacific Pension Institute, and the Institutional Real Estate Letter.

She has an additional six years of experience working in international education, most notably for the United States Embassy in Beijing, Berlitz in Abu Dhabi, and Princeton-in-Asia in Guangzhou. Karen earned her MA from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and graduated cum laude with a BA in History from Bryn Mawr College. Her Master thesis was a comparative analysis of media policy in China and the United Arab Emirates.

Atul followed his large-corporate career with entrepreneurial ventures in clean energy, hospitality & alternative-investments. He was Associate Professor at Sierra Nevada College at Lake Tahoe in Incline Village, Nevada where he was also Marketing Program Chair and taught courses in marketing, finance, investments, business strategy, business planning and entrepreneurship.
Shahruz Mohtadi holds a B.S. in International Business and a Ph.D. in Economics with a minor in International Relations. He is currently an Associate Professor at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. He also has faculty appointments at Babson College, and Hult International Business School. He is a member of the Global Faculty of the Baha’i Institute of Higher Education in Iran. He is the author of papers in academic journals and Baha’i publications.

As Chief Technology & Strategy Officer of a public company, TurboChef Technologies, he led next generation product development and launch efforts. At Arthur D. Little, where he was elected Director, he co-led the Consumer Industries practice, and also helped top executives craft business strategies. He was Visiting Assistant Professor at INSEAD (1992—1994) and began his career at American Express Bank.
John received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA, with a concentration in finance, from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. John became a CFA charterholder in 1990. In 2010 he earned the CIPM (Certificate in Performance Measurement) designation, also administered by the CFA Institute. From 1999 until 2006, John participated as a grader and senior grader at the CFA Institute. He also has been a member of the working body of the CFA Institute’s candidate core curriculum review committee. John began his career as an accountant and financial analyst for Levi Strauss. He later served as manager of treasury and risk, and pension officer, for Placer Dome US, Inc. Since 1998, John has been a consultant, with engagements at such firms as Chiron (Novartis) and Wells Fargo Bank. John also teaches preparatory classes for the CFA exam.
Professor Nairn has over 15 years of experience teaching. Her area of research expertise is the ethics of marketing to young people. She works as a consultant to a range of governments, NGOs, and corporations including UNICEF, Family and Parenting Institute, Coca-Cola GB, Unilever, and Mothercare. She has served government panels for the U.K. Department of Education and the Department of Health to conduct a major review of the impact of the commercial world on children's wellbeing. She is a frequent press, radio and TV commentator on the ethics of marketing to children, and published a book, Consumer Kids.
Professor Newman has extensive experience in entrepreneurship and small businesses. The founder of companies in the real estate, computer, and investment fields, he transitioned into academia to design and direct the entrepreneurship program at Boston University, which grew to be among the top 25 entrepreneurship programs in the country, at the time.
In 1990, he was asked to join Babson College, consistently ranked the top school in entrepreneurship education globally, where he taught entrepreneurship and management for over a decade. While at Babson, Professor Newman was named Professor of the Year, worked on major curriculum reform, and co-developed Babson’s Foundation Management Experience (FME), an experiential management principles course. The course received the TIAA-CREF Hesburgh outstanding curriculum award and was voted the most “innovative entrepreneurship education course” in the U.S. by the US Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Professor Newman has also served as a consultant to both large and small businesses, as a board member and advisor to a number of for-profit and not-for-profit companies, and as a frequent speaker at entrepreneurship functions. Over his nearly thirty-year academic career, he has worked on projects on six continents including Africa (Egypt), Asia (China and the Middle East), Australia, Europe, and the Americas.
In 1999, Professor Newman was identified by Business Week as one of the people who had fostered the development of small business in the 1990’s, the only academic on the list.
Professor Newman joined Hult International Business School as the Associate Dean responsible for curriculum design. While at Hult, he has received numerous honors including co-recipient of the Dean’s Award for Educational Improvement, Honor Roll for Outstanding Service, and was named Hult’s Professor of the Year twice. Currently, he serves as a Global Professor of Entrepreneurship, a Discipline Lead for Hult’s Entrepreneurship program, and as the Global Chair of Hult’s Academic Standards Committee.
Dr. Amanda Nimon Peters is a business psychologist. Dr. Amanda graduated at 19 from the University of Adelaide with a first class Honours Degree in Psychology and the Australian Psychological Society Prize. After taking a position as a lecturer in Psychology at the Flinders University of South Australia, she moved to the University of Cambridge where she gained a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Behavioural Science, and completed post-doctoral research. She moved from Cambridge to spend ten years in Procter & Gamble, working throughout Europe and the Middle East to train brand teams in applying psychological research findings to build sales and improve consumer communications. A new assignment in 2004 brought her to Dubai, where she has lived ever since. Following P&G, Dr. Amanda ran a training consultancy company, and taught as adjunct faculty at Hult. In early 2013 she was appointed Dean of Dubai campus.
Mary Jane Norton is president and founder of Management Educational Resources, a customer-focused consulting and training firm. A management development and communication specialist, Mary Jane has more than 30 years of experience consulting, designing, and delivering professional development training programs. She provides a full spectrum of management training, executive coaching, performance improvement programs, as well as communication and presentation skills seminars including DISC behavioral assessment. Her corporate experience spans high-tech, aerospace, manufacturing, financial services, and the utility industries. In addition to training and consulting, she is on the faculty at the HULT International Business School and an Adjunct Professor of Management at Babson College.
Professor O' Donnell is an engineer-turned-industry analyst for the telecommunication and media industries. His research focuses on the intersection of technology, policy, and economics in the development of new markets. He has studied consumer and market reactions to new communications technologies for the MIT Media Laboratory and corporate and NGO clients. He also teaches international communications courses at Tufts University's Fletcher School.
As a professor at Hult International Business School, Sara lectures on impact accounting internationally including recently at the World Knowledge Forum (Seoul), the MAKE Awards (Tehran), Frontier Market Scouts program (Monterey Institute), ECSEL (a Shanghai-based social venture incubator), and via SVT’s online video workshop series called the Cornerstone Series. Sara is also the co-founder of the Global Social Venture Competition and of the USA SROI Network and she is Methodology Committee co-chair of the International SROI Network.
Sara is the founder of SVT Group (@svtgroup), an impact accounting firm. Analogous to a financial accounting firm, SVT designs and delivers systems that enable measurement, management, reporting, and verification of social and environmental value. Unlike a conventional accounting firm, SVT goes beyond the numbers to include important qualitative, narrative, and occasionally sensory information about social value. Theocharis’ doctoral research focuses on Corporate Governance and part of it has been conducted at London School of Economics. Part of his work has been published in international journals and presented in academic conferences.
He has taught numerous postgraduate and undergraduate courses in British Institutions at Greece (Anglia Ruskin University, University of Huddersfield, University of Wales) and in 2011-12 served as an executive associate for the Greek Prime Minister. Her professional experience ranges from selling & supporting customers on timesharing in the 1970's, to marketing IBM hardware & software solutions as a key business partner in the 80's & 90's, to leading & managing at staff and executive levels for Fortune 500 and small startup companies, covering all aspects of the Information Systems knowledge base in the 90’s up to today. She has taught technical courses to adults in a corporate education environment and communications, leadership, and group dynamics courses in the non-profit world. Her special interests in graduate technology and business topics include Project Management, Effective Decision Making/IT Investment Decisions, Team Dynamics & Leadership, and Marketing in the Ecommerce world. Responsible for a 5 month project management contract each year with The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Marty works with many local non-profits, serving on boards, providing business consulting services, and tutoring math in Sonoma County Schools. She is currently on the Curriculum Design Committee for the Women’s Global Leadership Initiative, a startup focusing on leadership training programs for women and Treasurer for the Board of Trustees at First United Methodist Church. One of her small business activities is designing and guiding custom escorted tours for visitors to the wine county.
Dr. Timothy Payne earned his Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco. Prior to joining Hult, Tim worked as a Community Support Coordinator for Kiva Microfunds, the world's first personal microlending marketplace with a mission of alleviating global poverty by connecting people through microlending. Tim also spent five years working as an Assistant Vice President manager for Wells Fargo Bank. His research includes financial anthropology, social entrepreneurship, and innovation focusing on critical hermeneutic theory ideas such as identity, narrative and language. Tim also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Masters in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. He has presented his research at several international conferences and his fieldwork displays his commitment to socioeconomic development in South East Asia, particularly in the country of Myanmar.
Karen Phillips is a professional higher education administrator and has worked with both undergraduate and graduate student populations. Karen has a Masters of Science Degree in College Student Development & Counseling from Northeastern University. Karen has worked in a variety of Student Affairs functions including Alumni programming, Residence Life, Greek Life, Orientation, Student Activities, and Leadership Programs. At Suffolk University, Karen helped develop SU 101, a first year transition course for new students, and also created a leadership based extended orientation institute for students. She has experience working with both domestic and international students and has worked at Suffolk University, Regis College, MIT, Semester At Sea Study Abroad program and Northeastern University prior to starting work at Hult in April, 2013.
James A. Pope received degrees in economics from the College of Wooster and Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. Between his masters and doctoral degrees, he served five years in the U.S. Air Force as a logistics officer. He has written and consulted extensively in the field of operations management including supply chain management, total quality management, inventory control, scheduling, warehouse location and database management. He is the author of Supply Chain Survival in the Age of Globalization and co-author of Ocean Container Transportation: An Operational Perspective. He has been a professor at Old Dominion University and the University of Toledo and has taught abroad in Germany, the Netherlands and India. In addition to his academic work, he has been active in APICS, an organization for operations management professionals. He is professionally certified by APICS with the CFPIM and CSCP designations, and for thirty years has taught certification courses and developed certification training and testing materials for the organization.
Dr. Thomas L. Porter brings over thirty years of professional accounting experience into the Hult classroom. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Washington, he taught at Boston College then worked at the Financial Accounting Standards Board. Most recently, he was vice president at NERA Economic Consulting where he provided expert witness services on accounting-related matters in commercial litigation.
Jim currently teaches at Hult International Business School, the University of San Francisco and U.C. Berkeley Extension where he has been honored twice as “Instructor of the Year”. He has also taught at the Haas Business School at the University of California Berkeley, the Graham School of Business at the University of Chicago, and Stanford University. His courses include Strategic Marketing, Introduction to Marketing, Marketing Management, Sales Management, Retail Management, Management Communication, and Presentation Skills. Jim has co-authored with David Aaker Ph.D. the Instructor’s Manual for David Aaker’s Strategic Market Management (6-9 Editions) published by John Wiley & Sons. Jim was Director of Marketing and Sales for the Technology Products Group at Dataquest (a high-technology marketing research company) and Vice President of Sales for Power Up Software Corporation (a consumer software products manufacturer). He held management positions with several high-tech companies. Jim is former president of the Northern California Chapter of the National Speakers Association and is a former Vice President of the San Francisco Chapter of the American Marketing Association. He served on the committee for the AMA International Business-to-Business Marketing Conference held in San Francisco.

He co-founded and is a principal at Indigo Partners, a marketing strategy consulting partnership based in the Bay Area. He also founded or was a key early employee at three high-tech start-ups, worked as vice president of marketing at two other venture-backed start-ups, and occasionally works for clients as an interim marketing executive. He was a business unit manager "entrepreneur" and director of marketing at Sun Microsystems, a venture capital associate at U.S. Venture Partners, and a management consultant at Bain & Company. He teaches and coaches foreign executives and MBA students on business planning and pitching skills as a member of the University of San Francisco's International Executive Programs. He will publish his book Perfect Pitch: How to Present Your Business to Venture Capitalists and start a related blog in 2014. A.C. earned an SM in Management from MIT's Sloan School and an SM in Chemical Engineering and an SB in Chemistry from MIT. He served four years as an Armor officer in the U.S. Army.
After earning his Ph.D. in the areas of accounting, control, and the performance contribution of individuals, Professor Bill Ryan joined Hult to teach across a range of accounting and finance courses, with an emphasis on practical application built upon sound theoretical foundations. He has also designed courses for and led the distance learning MBA for the University of London. Before entering academic life, Professor Ryan held a number of senior management positions in accounting and strategic change management in companies such as Chrysler and the 3M Corporation, where he completed assignments in the U.K., Europe, and the U.S. His research is in the general area of management control spanning accounting and business strategy and he has published papers across these areas.
Jeff Schiebe is founder of J & F Associates, a management advisory & consulting company, providing international business development to emerging companies. A seasoned global entrepreneur and executive, with more than 30 years of international sales & marketing experience, his focus is on developing global partners, channel development and strategic selling—primarily in telecom, software and Internet markets. Traveling to more than 50 countries, Jeff has worked in all established markets as well as emerging markets in Eastern Europe, Africa, Middle East, and Latin America. Prior to launching J & F Associates, Jeff was a founding executive at OnePIN, a mobile applications company. His entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial experience ranges from start-ups (CxO Management, PixelVision, Acunet) to emerging companies (PictureTel) to established companies (Compaq).

Professor Audrey Schroeder teaches the presentation skills in the Hult Toolbox curriculum. When she is not teaching our courses, she works with multinational corporations in China and throughout the Asia Pacific region to deliver courses in leadership and communication skills. She is also an executive coach.
Originally from the US, Audrey has lived in Hong Kong and mainland China most of her adult life, including in Shanghai since 2002. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and frequently delivers her work to her clients in Mandarin.
Audrey has a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Chinese. She has also studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Outside of work, she enjoys training for and competing in triathlons.
A native of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Brian Schwarz has spent most of the past twenty years traveling around Japan and China. Since moving to China in 2000, he has lived in Beijing, Nanjing, and Shanghai. He specializes in international marketing and cross-cultural management with a focus on Asia. He earned an MBA from Napier University, which is based in Scotland, while living in Beijing in 2001. He earned a DBA from California Coast University in 2006. He has taught at a number of top universities in China including the ESSCA School of Management, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He was a consultant at Kraft Foods in Shanghai for two years. He has also authored a number of articles published in the Shanghai Business Review, China Economic Review, and China International Business since 2006. His current research project is titled Consumer Values Model of Status Consumption: A Cross-Cultural Empirical Analysis of Chinese, French and American Generation Y Consumers.
A native San Franciscan and avid chess player, Dan Sevall teaches the MIB accounting and finance toolboxes, as well as the MIB Accounting class. After earning his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy (West Point), Dan served as an Army officer in Europe in the early 1990's, and also earned a master's degrees from Troy University (International Relations) in its European campus. Following his service commitment, Dan received a fellowship to Duke University, completing his MBA in 1999. His post-MBA professional career includes tours of duty at IBM, Agilent Technologies and Google. His current full-time position is as the Division CFO for Military.com, Fastweb, Education.Org and Monster Communities. Truth be told, Dan very much enjoys teaching in the classroom and is thrilled to be a part of Hult's growing stature.

Jim has been serving as an adjunct faculty member at Hult for the last three years teaching the “IT for Managers” course. He has also taught several courses at the graduate and undergraduate level at Northeastern University and Boston University. Jim’s business background includes independent consulting as well as senior management consulting at Ernst & Young and office director of IT consulting for a division of Deloitte. His experience also includes Chief Information Officer of four companies across pharmaceutical, manufacturing and services industries. As a Vice President of IT at Houghton Mifflin, Jim had responsibility for the Program Management Office and led the IT Infrastructure support function of that company. As Vice president and CIO of the Shipley Company he led global IT initiatives in the U.S., Europe and Asia. With this breadth of experience, Jim brings to Hult a business focused and pragmatic application of IT best practices which he thoroughly enjoys sharing through the framework of Hult’s education platform.
Dr. Mark Spokes teaches primarily on the social entrepreneurship concentration with a specific focus on human security and rights. His classes reflect a current research interest in critical theories of social change and global ethics. Dr. Spokes also teaches in his specialist area of American national identity and foreign policy. He has been with Hult InternationalBusiness School since it opened its London campus. Prior to this, Dr. Spokes taught at Queen Mary University of London and worked for several think tanks and NGOs in London. In his spare time, he moves his struggle for animal liberation into the kitchen and attempts to improve hisvegan cooking skills.
Dr. Merwyn Strate is currently a professor of Operations Management with Hult International School of Business in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Prior to his appointment to the Hult faculty he was an Associate Professor and Chair of the Management Department in the School of Business at the American University in Dubai. Previous academic experience includes being appointed Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership at Purdue University in Indiana and time spent at the University of Nebraska as both a graduate teaching/research assistant. Professor Strate earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at the University of Nebraska. He also holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska and a Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State College in business administration and economics. While studying for his doctorate, Professor Strate participated in research activities focusing on Leadership and Organization Development. Previous experience includes over 20 years working with the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in a variety of leadership and management capacities in the areas of accounting, finance, marketing, sales, customer service, and operations management. Dr. Strate has also served as President and CEO of a successful franchise development company in addition to being involved with several family owned businesses. His personal interests include golf, fly fishing, hiking, diving and reading.
Paul R. Sullivan teaches Implementing Strategies Globally at Hult and is a senior fellow at the University of Michigan’s William Davidson Institute. Recent projects include leadership workshops for USAID in Pakistan, a TEDx talk in Tunisia on entrepreneurship and a presentation at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre in Ghana. Paul was Founder and Managing Director of Global Partners, Inc., an international consulting firm dedicated to helping companies expand their global businesses. He led teams in planning and pursuit of major aerospace, energy, and high technology contracts resulting in multi-million dollar wins around the world. He has worked in 50 countries and presented seminars for thousands of managers from over 100 nations. Earlier, Paul was Senior Vice President of Harbridge House, Inc. a management consulting firm. Paul has worked with many Fortune “Global 500” companies as well as government organizations including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Departments of Defense, Energy and Health & Human Services. Kenny Tang PhD CFA Professor of Corporate Citizenship and Business Ethics PhD (Judge Business School, Cambridge University), MSc (Oxford University) Kenny Tang, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), teaches Corporate Social Responsibility and Socially Responsible Investment from a background of postgraduate degrees from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. He earned his doctorate of business administration in business strategy at The Judge Business School, Cambridge University and a Masters from the University of Oxford. He is dubbed “Asia’s Al Gore” by global investment bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch for his public speaking and activist work giving lectures and talks on the business impact of weather, climate change and other environmental issues around the world. Dr Henrik Tötterman has worked several years at Hanken School of Economics in Finland, as researcher, assistant professor, and MBA Director. His courses and executives programs are commonly highly appreciated among participants. He has also lectured on various research and corporate seminars, courses and conferences especially in Europe. He has published articles in entrepreneurship and his dissertation focuses on Industrial design entrepreneurs and associated entrepreneurial processes. During the years Henrik has had several commissions of trust both in academia and corporate life. In addition, he has experience from being an entrepreneur, chairman and member of the board in a number of smaller enterprises.
Christopher (Rusty) Tunnard teaches Management and Organization at Hult. He is also a member of the International Business faculty at the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he has recently been appointed the Hitachi Fellow for Technology and International Affairs. For many years, he was a Principal at Arthur D. Little (ADL) in their Travel and Technology practice in Brussels and London. He is a recognized expert on technology-led change in the international communications, travel, and financial service industries. Prior to joining ADL, he directed world-wide strategy and technology partnerships for the Travel Division of American Express TRS Co. He has also run his own consulting firm and has owned and operated a hotel barge company in southern France.
His doctoral dissertation focused on the use of technology in the formation of resistance networks that eventually led to peaceful regime change in Serbia in the 1990s. His current research examines the roles that social networks and social media can play in building up institutions and civil society in post-revolutionary countries, and he is developing analytical methods to examine public and private social networks and their impact on organizations.
Don Uy-Barreta has been teaching economics and finance related courses since 1999. He has also helped revise certificate programs and course offerings in various institutions. In addition, he has over a decade long experience in investment management, most recently as a Portfolio Analyst, where he assisted in managing nearly $4.5 billion in tax-exempt securities. He has taught at De Anza College, Palo Alto University, Notre Dame de Namur University, U.C. Berkeley Extension, and U.C. Santa Cruz Extension. His main interest lies in macroeconomics, developmental economics, labor economics and investment management. He has a B.A. and an M.S. in Economics and is currently pursuing his second masters in finance.
Dr. Maarten van der Kamp is the Founder and Managing Director of Value in Enterprise, a consultancy helping organisations innovate for a more sustainable society. His research focuses on the management of ‘sustainabilities’ in the production and consumption of certified goods, with a focus on food; previous projects include an Academy of Business in Society funded study about the integration of sustainability in mainstream leadership development programmes for the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership.
Dr. van der Kamp started his career at Royal Philips Electronics as a senior engineer, team leader and environmental facilitator. In the latter capacity, he contributed to sustainability debates at corporate and business line levels, and improved development processes to stimulate a more sustainable approach to product design.
Nina van Gessel is Associate Dean for the Undergraduate program at Hult International Business School’s London campus. Her responsibilities include providing support for new and continuing faculty and chairing the Academic Standards Committee. Before joining Hult, Nina taught at universities in Canada and the Netherlands. She has taught courses in, among other fields, academic and business writing, information literacy, cultural studies, and gender and international relations. Nina obtained her Ph.D in American literature from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Professor Vannoni has more than 15 years international experience in media, corporate communications, digital marketing, and social media. He holds a MBA from Boston University and began his career at CNN International's Business-Today show. Dr. Vannoni's current clients include a USD4 billion market-cap company as well as the Italian energy regulator. In 2005, he was Elected Member of the Board at the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.
Daniel specializes in Marketing Communications, New Media, Film and Television Production. He is currently researching the uses of professional communication in the management and development of creativity. Before moving to the UK in 2004, he worked as a screenwriter, casting director and editor in Spain. He now lives in London, where he is the media consultant of TwelvePoint.com and the co-founder of Ace Films.
Dr. Wagemans is Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading the Public Services Advisory Practice. Prior to PwC, he was a strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. He was the recipient of the Hoover Foundation Fellowship while at Brown University and has been Visiting Fellow at Oslo University.

He has established and led digital departments and has hands-on expertise with SEO and PPC, Analytics, online Media,Mobile, Social and Web development processes. Dan’s latest focus is consulting with brands and businesses to build participation and driving innovation and creativity throughthe use of Lean and Agile methodologies. Dan has a wide range of experience withbrands across multiple verticals including: The Hartford, Prudential Securities, Mass Mutual, M&M Mars, Humana, United Health Care and Aetna.
Mo manages his own marketing consultancy company in London and has over the years carried out consultancy assignments for several organisations including Coca cola, The British Council and The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Over the past six years, Mo has trained over 2000 marketing executives mainly in Europe, Asia and Africa. Prior to setting up his consultancy, he worked for four years as Group Marketing Manager (West Africa) for the French multinational firm Cement Françoise.
Mo is a graduate of Cranfield University School of Management and holds a Chartered Marketer Status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). His doctoral dissertation centred on managing service quality in academic institutions.
Mo serves as an Adjunct professor at the triple accredited Grenoble University Graduate School of Business (GGSB) and lectures in their campuses in France, Singapore and China.
Melissa Willby is the Dean for the Undergraduate program at Hult International Business School’s London campus. She came to Hult from Syracuse University’s London campus where she served as the Internship and Community Service Coordinator for this large, well-established study abroad program. During her time at SU, Melissa rationalized and expanded SU’s internship program and developed links with a wide variety of London businesses, charities, NGO’s and local schools. Prior to this, she lectured for a number of international and study abroad universities and colleges including Richmond, the American International University in London; Ithaca College London and the American School in London, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Soup Kitchen at ACL. She holds a PhD from Sussex University in American Studies. After twenty-five years of living in London, she has finally succeeded in visiting all of capital's thirty-two boroughs and two cities.
Sharon joined Hult in May, 2012 and is currently Associate Dean for post-graduate programs in London. Prior to joining Hult, she was Executive Director of Executive Education and Director of Professionally Certificated Programs at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School; at Cambridge she led the development and launch of a number of new programs including the Post-graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship. Sharon brings over 20 years’ experience in higher education administration in the UK and Canada, including 8 years as Director of Continuing Studies at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. While at the University of Western Ontario, she identified, developed, and launched innovative new programs in a wide variety of subject areas using creative online and classroom teaching and delivery methods. Sharon serves on several boards, lives in Cambridge, and is trying valiantly to learn the game of golf.
Andrew Wright has been with Hult since 2003. He specializes in international political economy, development, and the political economy of war. He returned to academic life as a mature student, after a decade of work in local government administration. Andrew studied philosophy, then economic history and international politics (at York University) and sociology (at the London School of Economics); since then Andrew has taught at both British and American universities, including the School of African and Oriental Studies and Birkbeck College (University of London), the University of Notre Dame in London, and London Metropolitan University.
Andrew is a member of the British International Studies association, and was a founding editor of the journal, Historical Materialism. His primary research interests and current project concerns the relationship between war and the world market economy. He is also working on a critical survey of approaches to the relationship between war, politics and society. His publications include a conference paper on 'Anthony Giddens and the Historical Sociology of War and Modernity' presented at the British International Studies Association; a paper on 'Capitalism States and Accounting' published in the journal Critical Perspectives in Accounting and several contributions to the recently published Encyclopedia of International Political Economy.
Mario Yanez, Jr. has been a full-time member of the Faculty at the Computer Information Systems Department of the School of Business Administration, University of Miami since 1998. His areas of expertise include Management Information Systems, Project Management of Information Technology, and Management of Technology. He teaches Management Information Systems and Project Management in the regular and Executive MBA programs, in the Master of Science in Professional Management program offered in Spanish to Latin American executives, and at the undergraduate level. He also teaches Management of Technology in the Industrial Engineering Department.
Prior to his academic career, he was an information systems/technology senior manager and consultant in the private sector. A former Director of Telecommunications and Networks at the University of Miami, and the University’s NGJ Information Systems Institute, his extensive industry experience also includes assignments in corporate MIS and Project Management with Ryder System, Inc., Bell South, GTE, General Electric and KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mario holds a PhD Degree in Business Information Systems and Technology Management from the University of Miami, a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and Secretary of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Education Committee of the International Association for the Management of Technology (IAMOT); he is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a member of the PMI’s Global Accreditation Center Academic Network. He has been recently selected by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar in Strategic Project Management.
Samar’s experience in design is both academic and professional. She has been teaching Design and Multimedia since 1998 at a number of universities. She is also an active practitioner, with a portfolio of printed and screen-based projects, often bilingual. Clients include the BBC and Sharjah International Biennial.Her special interests include typography and non-linear narration in multimedia.
Professor Zif holds engineering degrees from Technion, Israel, and an MBA and PhD from New York University. He was a member of the faculty at Tel-Aviv University and lectured for many years in executive programs at Harvard, Wharton and Northwestern, and in many programs around the world. He was elected "Professor of the Year" at Hult in December 2005. Professor Zif has extensive consulting experience in many industries and was previously the president of a start-up U.S. firm funded by venture capital.
Professor Yael Zif has been teaching in management and in the Executive MBA program of Tel-Aviv University since 1982 and at the School of Management of Boston University from 1987 to 2006. For three years, Dr. Zif was a visiting professor in a joint program of Northwestern University (Kellogg) and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand, teaching Organizational Behaviour. She lectured at Wharton Executive Education programs, at Harvard Institute of International Development, at Catholica Univeristy in Chile and at Central European University in Budapest. Dr. Zif has extensive experience in leading training and development programs for managers in organizations. She has an outstanding record in student evaluations.
