Keith Merron

Professor of Consulting

EdD., Harvard University; MA, Boston College

Dr. Merron has taught at Hult since 2010 where he played an instrumental role in helping start up the San Francisco Campus. He teaches TeamSkills, Leadership, Management Communications, and Change Management. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco OD program.

He is the founder and Managing Partner of Avista Consulting Group, an organizational consulting and leadership development firm dedicated to helping organizations with bold visions achieve sustainable high performance and industry leadership.  As an organization effectiveness and executive development consultant, he has more than 30 years of experience assisting executives and managers in business, government, and education.  In partnership with his clients, he has successfully conducted over twenty-five large-system strategic, cultural, and technical change efforts resulting in a measurable increase in organizational productivity, employee performance, and employee satisfaction. Dr. Merron has significant experience in helping companies manage the human side of mergers and acquisitions, downsizing, and challenges of sustaining periods of rapid growth. In addition, has designed and led over 100 seminars and workshops, aimed to produce a positive and enduring change in the way executives and managers lead their organizations. Industry experience includes computer and electronics, telecommunications, insurance, utilities, and health care. 

Keith has conducted research on the relationships between human development, managerial effectiveness and high performance, and has published numerous professional journal articles. His research help lay the foundation for Integral Theory, a major theoretical framework for leadership and organizational behavior.  In addition, he played a major role in helping revamp the MBA curriculum at Hult, shaping its direction toward people skills. 

He is the author of five books on human and organizational change.  They include: Riding the Wave: Designing Your Organization for Enduring Success, Consulting Mastery: How the Best Make the Biggest Difference, The Golden Flame: The Heart and Soul of Remarkable Leadership, Inner Freedom: Living Authentically the Life You Were Truly Meant to Live and Gender Intelligence: Breakthrough Strategies for Increasing Diversity and Improving Your Bottom Line, co-authored with Barbara Annis.
