Andrew Field has spent much of his adult life living in China, including Taiwan, Beijing, and Shanghai. He has a PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures from Columbia University and is also conversant in Japanese. Andrew is the author of "Shanghai's Dancing World: Cabaret Culture and Urban Modernity, 1919-1954" (Hong Kong: Chinese University Press, 2010). He has taught Chinese History, East Asian History, and World History for major universities around the globe, including Columbia University, University of Puget Sound, University of New South Wales, Dartmouth College, and New York University. He has served as Director for several study abroad programs in China, including Dartmouth College, CIEE, and Boston University.
