Speakers include EF's Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, Chris McCormick with world renowned Ashridge Adjunct Riaz Shah delivering the Keynote on 'Disruptive Technologies That Will Change Our World'.
About Riaz Shah:
Riaz is part of the Adjunct Teaching Faculty at Ashridge Executive Education. At Ashridge, Riaz has led sessions in the last year with clients that include Munich Re, Lufthansa, Dubai Government, easyJet, EF, UK Civil Service, and Ashridge’s Senior Executive Program. He specialises in teaching digital disruption, global megatrends, innovation, and the personal leadership and corporate responses to an increasingly VUCA world.
He is currently a part-time senior partner at EY, the global professional services firm, and has over 30 years’ experience in global management, talent, technology consulting, change management, and auditing.
Riaz has also taught Executive MBAs at Hult International Business School, and is a frequent speaker at London Business School. He recently opened a free school in London, advises several start-ups, and is a board member of the Bright Ideas Trust and Common Purpose. He is an alumnus of Singularity University’s Executive Programme, and a member of Harvard Business School’s Global Alumni Board.
About Chris McCormick:
A lifelong love of learning languages and discovering other cultures led Christopher to a career path in international education and exchange. At EF, he oversees the design of EF’s innovative language programs. In this role, he also advises companies and governments on language training solutions for educators, professionals, and executives. Over the past twenty years, he has led major projects that have included interactive, digital, and print publishing for young learners through to adults; course management system design; teacher training and operations; online language testing; and special course design in partnership with governments, companies, and institutions, such as the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Lego Education, and the Olympics (Beijing 2008, Sochi 2014, Rio 2016, Pyeongchang 2018, Tokyo 2020). He has also established applied linguistic research initiatives in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, Harvard Graduate School of Education, and the University of Tokyo
Christopher has traveled to over 100 countries and Antarctica and has lived in the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, France, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Switzerland. He holds a B.A. with honors in French and Russian from Tulane University with studies at the Sorbonne in Paris, an M.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, both from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was twice awarded a University Fellowship for his research work in language learning technology.
