About the class

Is Global Truly Global? The Continuing Importance of National Culture in International Business

Do place and culture still matter in global business? Many pundits would like us to believe that the world is flat and that the winds of globalization have eroded differences between people from different backgrounds. In this lecture, Prof. Wagemans will present a different reality, one that demonstrates the continuing importance of place and, by extension culture, in international business.

About the Professor

Michael Wagemans is Managing Partner at i-propeller, one of Europe’s leading shared value consultancies.

He has almost 15 years of experience in strategy & organization advisory, working together with corporates and public entities across Europe, North-America, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to joining i-propeller, Michael held positions of responsibility in management consulting at Weave, PwC and Arthur D. Little.
Michael holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. He was the recipient of the Hoover Foundation Fellowship while completing (post)doctoral work at Brown University. He completed his undergraduate studies in Politics and Economics at the Brussels Free University.
