Jim Rogers

It was with great honor that Hult hosted Jim Rogers, co-founder of the Quantum Fund and creator of the Rogers International Commodity Index (RICI) for the opening of the Shanghai Campus in October 2011. Rogers gave a fascinating speech and shared his perspectives on life, business school, running a hedge fund, and his time as the first hedge fund manager to drive around the world through 116 countries.

“There are spectacular opportunities in Asia today,” Rogers told the crowd. Rogers believes that change is coming in these new frontiers, and urged business school students to seize opportunities as they arise. Although he did not deny that China will have its share of problems during the global downturn, he is very optimistic about its long-term ability to be a global and far-sighted power.

Azran Osman-Rani

In early 2011 it was with great pleasure that we invited Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of Air Asia X to speak with students, alumni and corporate partners. Azran was appointed CEO of Air Asia X, Asia's most successful low-cost passenger carrier, at the age of 36, following a career at satellite broadcaster, Astro as well as with McKinsey & Company. Speaking at Hult Shanghail, Azran inspired Hult students as he revealed his plan to make AirAsia X a US$1 billion business within the next five years.
