Dr. James Abdey is the LSE Fellow in Statistics having completed his doctorate there specializing in a methodological unification of statistical “schools” in quantifying the true evidential value of data. In 2010 he began teaching the MBA Quantitative Methods course at Hult's London campus, focusing on managerial decision making. From 2012, he is also responsible for delivering a range of quantitative courses across Hult’s suite of postgraduate programs, including Managerial Economics. Dr. Abdey has extensive experience developing learning resources for LSE’s distance learning and summer school programs in Economics, Mathematics and Statistics, including lecturing spells in Central Asia and the Far East. Outside of academia, he has also undertaken various quantitative-based consultancy projects ranging from the hedge fund industry to the UK parliament, while his research interests include forensic statistics and market research techniques
Professor Saghbini specializes in Quantitative Analysis & Decision Making for Business. He is also an active academic researcher in Middle Eastern Studies and Conflict Resolution. At Hult, he teaches a range of Business courses including Accounting, Quantitative Methods and Risk Analysis. Professor Saghbini is a fellow at the Royal Statistical Society and a member of Political Studies Association PSA UK for which he publishes regular articles that reflect his interests. His most recent publication is a book entitled “Introduction to Quantitative Research Methods for Business”. Hisham is in the process of writing his Ph.D. as a quantitative analysis of the role of minorities in the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Recently published a book entitled: "Essentials of Quantitative Research Methods.”
Professor Amdur has over thirty years of line, staff and executive policy experience in engineering, manufacturing, computer systems and education settings. He is President of Amdur Associates, an operations consulting firm that focuses on enterprise and supply-chain solutions. He has taught graduate courses in Operations Management at Northeastern University, Bentley College, Boston University, and Simmons College.
Professor Anthony has pursued a dual career as a general management consultant and an educator. As a consultant, he has a broad practice in assisting global corporate clients in the areas of change management, strategy innovation, and leadership development. His experience includes working with groups and teams across levels, functions, industries, and geographies to develop competitive visions, solve problems, implement strategies, and build capabilities. Rob holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an AB, magna cum laude, from Occidental College in Los Angeles. He is currently a PhD candidate at Bentley College and lives in Lexington, Massachusetts.
John C. Beck is Managing Director of Hult Labs, Professor at Hult International Business School, and President of the North Star Leadership Group, Inc. (http://www.nslg.net). Previously, he served as the Dean of Globis University -- the first non-Japanese to lead a bilingual professional degree program in Japan – and as a Professor and Senior Advisor at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore. He is currently also a Senior Research Fellow at University of Southern California’s Annenberg Center for the Digital Future, and formerly Director of International Research at Accenture and a Senior Advisor at Monitor Group and the International University of Japan. He was also a Professor of Global Management & Dean of Research at Thunderbird School of Global Management.
John earned his B.A. in East Asian Studies and Sociology summa cum laude from Harvard University, and was the first graduate of Harvard’s integrative Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior. Dr. Beck is a Visiting Professor at IMD (Switzerland) and IPADE (Mexico). He has also taught at numerous other universities like: Harvard, UCLA, USC, and the Ivey School in Canada.
Dr. Beck served as the senior strategic advisor to the First Prime Minister, Prince Ranariddh, during Cambodia’s first three years as a democracy. John previously was Co-Director of the "Project on Strategies of the World’s Largest 50 Companies" for the United Nations. He has served on the Board of Directors of a variety of corporations and universities, including the Monterey Institute of International Studies (California) and Choice Humanitarian, a non-profit organization supporting village development programs in six countries around the world.
Dr. Beck has published hundreds of books, articles, and business reports on the topics of business in Asia, strategic management, globalization, leadership, and technology. His latest book, Good vs. Good is the culmination of a half-decade of research. He has appeared on CNN, CBS Evening News, Fox News and is a frequent guest on National Public Radio. He is quoted and cited in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Financial Times, The New York Times and other leading papers and magazines. His co-authored book, The Attention Economy, was named one of the best ten business books of 2001 by Amazon, Border’s and the Library Association. DoCoMo: The wireless tsunami (with Mitchell Wade) was published in September 2002 and acclaimed as an excellent book on leadership. His book (again with Mitchell Wade), Got Game: How a new generation of gamers is reshaping business forever has received wide press coverage. Japan’s Business Renaissance: How the world’s greatest economy revived, renewed and reinvented itself (co-authored with Mark Fuller) was published by McGraw-Hill in 2005. The Kids are Alright, released in late 2006, was listed as one of Harvard Business School Press’s “most popular” books. His books have been translated into eleven languages. He is currently writing his next book, Old Brains.
Thea Bellos is the principal of The Bellos Group, a global marketing and management consulting firm, which was founded in 1991. Prior to establishing the Bellos Group, she was the Director of Marketing and Communications of EIP Associates, an environmental consulting firm; and, Director of Development of the Oakland Ballet, a national dance touring company. Ms. Bellos has taught international marketing, market research and strategic marketing courses at Golden Gate University’s Ageno School of Business and she was the recipient of the University’s Stanley Price Adjunct Faculty Award for distinguished service. Bellos has led training/seminars on cross-cultural communication and negotiations, and she has taught strategic marketing and international management courses at UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, Dominican University of California, St. Mary’s College of California and Macquarie University’s study abroad program on The Scholar Ship. At Hult she will be teaching international marketing in the Master of Digital Marketing program. She is also currently working with an international team in the development of The Global Stewards Institute, a non-profit organization, and serving as the President of the Board of Directors. An avid traveler and photographer, Ms. Bellos exhibits her photographs throughout the Bay Area and she participates in the EBOS Pro Arts Open Studio and the Berkeley Artisans Holiday Open Studio annually.
Godfrey Bevan has over 45 years of experience in industry, academia, government and consultancy. He originally qualified as an electrical engineer and worked in the power sector, planning, constructing and operating electrical power systems. He also spent a period as an academic at the former Cranfield Institute, lecturing, mostly on technology, environment and economic assessment to MSc, MBA and short course students and managing a research programme. He subsequently spent 20 years, much of it in the role of Director of Energy Technology in the former UK Government Departments of Energy and Trade and Industry advising ministers on energy policy and climate change, and managing development programmes with industry and commerce, primarily on energy efficiency, electricity, coal technology and renewable energy. In that role he served on numerous national and international committees relating to energy policy. A further decade was then spent as an energy policy consultant advising governments and industry. In private life he pursues hobbies of wood carving/cabinet making and scuba diving, and has recently taken up learning to play the piano.
Ajay Bhalla is Full Professor of Global Innovation Management at Cass Business School. He joined Cass Business School as an Assistant Professor in 2001 and was awarded the Chair in 2010. From 2009-2010 he was a Visiting Scholar at Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad, India. He teaches Global Business, Strategy and Family Business courses. He has specific research interest in (a) How Ownership & Governance Structure influences resource acquisition and strategic decision making (b) What makes firms innovate better and what are the implications of pursuing innovation across boundaries for firm configuration. He is an award winning researcher and teacher, and works closely with managers to execute thought leadership. More recently he has worked with UK Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, which involved presenting his research on Employee Ownership to Deputy Prime Minister. Among the firms he has worked with are John Lewis Partnership, Barclays, Ernst and Young, International Chambers of Commerce and EMI. Katharine Boshkoff is co-founder of ChangeWorksLab where she works with CEOs and their leadership teams to implementing new strategies. Prior to establishing ChangeWorksLab she was a consulting partner for the strategy and venture capital firm, R.B. Webber and Company. At R.B. Webber she consulted to senior executives at over 100 high growth start-up technology companies through seed funding to liquidity events. Prior to R.B. Webber, she was an executive at a number of technology companies including Vice President of Strategy at Ceridian and Vice President of Marketing for TesserAct Corporation.
At Hult, she teaches Consulting, Managerial Skills and is a lecturer in the Career Development program. She has also taught management and leadership in the Venture Capital Education program at the Kauffman Foundation and Strategic Management at Presidio Management School in Sustainability. In addition to her teaching engagements, she is a frequent lecturer and workshop leader on the application of brain science to creating and maintaining sustainable change in individuals and organization. An avid athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Katharine competes in endurance cycling events in her spare time.
Dr. Jennifer Camota-Contreras is Associate Dean for the Hult campus in San Francisco, where she works with faculty and students to ensure successful delivery of academic education and services. Jennifer is also a Professor of Leadership and Teambuilding, where she teaches Hult's international and diverse students how to work together successfully in teams.
Jennifer spent four years at the University of San Francisco (USF) as Associate Dean for the School of Management. Her responsibilities included running all aspects of the Executive MBA (EMBA) program, leading the team that recruited for all graduate business programs, career services, marketing and public relations, and oversight for corporate and alumni relations. She was also an adjunct instructor and taught management courses. Jennifer has 15 years of industry experience leading corporate operational accounting departments for companies such as Genentech, Electronic Arts, Gap, and Business Wire. Jennifer is the co-founder, past-president, and current board member of Women MBA Connect, a San Francisco-based organization for professional women who have MBA's from a variety of B-schools from around the world.
Jennifer has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University, an MBA from USF, and a Doctor of Education with an emphasis in Organization and Leadership from USF. Jennifer is a native of San Francisco and she lives with her husband and son in the small beach town of Pacifica, just south of San Francisco.
In 2008, Bill left investment banking and has been teaching Corporate Finance in the Executive MBA Program at San Francisco State University and Financial Decision Making at the University of San Francisco. Both courses focused on financial analysis, capital budgeting, capital markets, valuation, and financing strategies. He spent half of his career in investment banking and half in commercial banking. As an investment banker, he advised privately held and small cap companies in mergers and acquisitions and in raising equity and mezzanine capital. He received a MBA from the University of California at Berkeley with an emphasis in finance and marketing. His banking experience gives him a very strong background in corporate finance with particular emphasis on capital structure, corporate valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy. As an investment banker, he has completed transactions in numerous industry sectors including retail, internet, clean-tech, education, service, catalog, manufacturing, subcontractors, software, and distribution as well as advised companies in all stages of growth: startup, expansion, and mature firms. As a commercial banker, he has experience as a commercial lender, cash manager, and managed Union Bank’s commercial banking activities in Northern California. Bill is currently doing transactions as a sole practitioner and through the Taproot Foundation providing pro bono consulting to non-profits on developing their strategic plans.
Adam Carstens is Director of Research for Hult International Business School and a member of the team at Hult Labs, the newly created global research initiative based out of Hult’s San Francisco campus. In addition to teaching, Adam is also helping the Hult Labs team conduct original research on what's needed in business education, and will help design new learning approaches in the classroom based on this research.
Before coming to Hult, Adam led consulting engagements for Harvard Business School Professor John Kotter's consulting firm, Kotter International. Prior to that, he was the first non-Japanese full-time faculty member at Globis, Japan’s largest business school in Tokyo, Japan and helped design their International MBA program. He has also helped teach classes at the Annenberg School for Communications at USC and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also served as a political aide for a U.S. Senator and Congressman in Washington, DC.
He received his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and lives in Belmont, California with his wife, son and daughter.
Julie Yao Cooper is on the faculty of Hult International Business School, where she has taught courses in marketing, business case methodology, consulting, and quantitative methods since 2004.
Professor Cooper has over two decades of consulting experience in business strategy, corporate education and market research. Her current work focuses on ways to accelerate development of critical thinking and communications skills needed by future business leaders working in multicultural environments. In market research, Professor Cooper’s engagements integrate state-of-the-art qualitative and quantitative research techniques to transform abstract data into actionable insights. Past organizations that have benefited from Ms. Cooper’s expertise include American Express, BBDO, Merck and Planned Parenthood.
Professor Cooper has lead consulting engagements with the Monitor Group, a global strategy-consulting firm. She was a founding principal with Mavens & Moguls, LLC, a marketing consultancy. Her corporate background includes in-house positions with Goldman Sachs, IBM, and Procter & Gamble. As a researcher and doctoral candidate in marketing at Harvard Business School, Professor Cooper published papers on customer loyalty, consumer behavior and marketing strategy.
Professor Cooper holds an A.B. in Economics with honors from Harvard University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She has studied piano at the Juilliard School of Music, and speaks Mandarin Chinese. Professor Cooper currently resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband and two young children.
Dr. Courtin has extensive experience as the CEO for a series of successful high-tech, Boston-based companies. As CEO, he negotiated alliances, joint ventures, and partnership agreements in more than 30 countries. Dr. Courtin currently serves on the boards of directors of Kashya Inc. and OpenNetwork.
Professor Dalko has served on the faculties of Harvard and CUNY Baruch College. She was a visiting scholar at the University of Munich and a visiting professor at Thunderbird, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Corvinus University Budapest, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Illinois. Dr. Dalko has also served as Advisor to the President of the National Bank of Hungary and Chief of Staff of the Budget, Tax, and Finance Committee of the Hungarian Parliament.

Later he was for six years Principal Consultant at management development consultancy Ellis Hayward, and later still, he spent a further six years as Programme Director in Cranfield School of Management's Centre for Customised Executive Education. He was a recent guest editor of a special edition of the Journal of Public Affairs which focused on ethics in business, and he is regularly published, and has recently had a book on management commissioned by Pearson Publishing.
Dr. Deneffe is also an international partner in consulting at Arthur D. Little. Prior to Hult, Dr. Deneffe taught strategy at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. His main interests are strategy, customer management and quantitative modeling.
Professor Dunkwu teaches Business Ethics, Sustainability and Strategic Management. He also heads a consultancy firm, CMSD Consulting Ltd, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The firm has been building strategic alliances between Global firms and firms of African origin. He is also a publisher and the founder of Sahara Publishing Company Ltd. He has varied work experience across Europe and Africa, and worked in a technical and Management capacities for Mercedes Benz, FSB Int’l Bank Plc and Metropolitan Bank.
He has taught on MBA programmes of Coventry University, University of Wales - Trinity Saint David, and University of Brighton Business Management programme. He has also taught in Senior Executive Management courses, and is a Moderator in Business and Management Studies with AQA.
A Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and Higher Education Academy, he earned his first degree in Physics with honours. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial & Labour Relations, and an MBA from University of East London. He has trained as a teacher, qualifying with a Postgraduate Certificate, Learning & Teaching (Higher Education). His doctorate research deals with the use of Corporate Governance as a Strategic tool for SMEs Sustainability.
Jude has written a series of children stories, The Tortoise Tale, based on the tortoise as a cheeky character. He still writes children’s story.
Professor Edmunds specializes in finance with particular interest in the areas of capital markets and emerging markets, international finance, and derivatives. A member of the faculty at Babson College, he has teaching experience at other Boston universities as well as in Spain, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic.
Prof. Escamilla has extensive work experience with Procter & Gamble in the Finance and Accounting department. He developed and implemented a cost forecasting system adopted in all Latin America production plants earning him the “P&G Stewardship Manager of the Year Award 2005”. He also developed an automated tool to read SAP data and build custom financial reports for top management decision making. He conducted competitive intelligence analyses to forecast competitor’s pricing and new product launches.
Prior to P&G, he developed an inventory control system for the largest Spanish-language book publisher as well as a Pedagogic System to teach Accounting to college students. Prof. Escamilla has extensive experience in C, C++, Visual Basic and VBA, PowerBuilder, Spreadsheets and Databases. He has participated in SAP implementations. Prof. Escamilla has designed and led several market research studies for launching new products and ventures in the Middle East. He has implemented databases, programmed systems and participated in census for The National Institute of Statistic and Geography in Mexico and the Foreign Affairs Ministry through the Mexican Consulate in Dubai.
He has taught Integral and Differential Calculus in the largest private university in Mexico and currently teaches Quantitative Analysis for Hult International Business School.
Mark Esposito is a contemporary author, researcher and professor, in the field of Economics of Strategy, Complex Systems, Economic Development, and Sustainability. His work has been widely recognized internationally and Mark has been featured as “Professor of the week” by the Financial Times, for the FT Lexicon, where he authored 3 terms. He has published 8 books, over 25 business cases and several academic articles. His academic work appears regularly on the Academy of Management, as well as The Economist and Harvard Business Review. Mark is the Founding Director of theLab-Center for Competitiveness; a research think tank affiliated with the MOC network of Prof. Michael Porter at Harvard Business School. He holds Research Fellowships at Ashridge Business School, as well as, at the Institute of Competitiveness in India. Mark’s teaching experience includes appointments at Grenoble Ecole de Management, IE Business School, UMass Amherst, Harvard University and the University of Cambridge, where he also currently serves as Senior Associate for the "University of Cambridge Program for Sustainability Leadership".
David B. Flood, lecturer on “Sustainability.” Mr. Flood has a B.A. in History from the University of Delaware (1978) and a Master’s in International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh (1980). Starting with Strategic Planning Associates in 1980 his work as a management consultant has spanned the full range of manufacturing and service industries, public and parastatal entities, trade associations, development banks and related international and bilateral aid agencies. After working as a commodities broker on Wall St., Flood was an International Affairs Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations on secondment to the World Bank, a research fellow at the World Resources Institute, the manager of a UN trade publishing group, and an independent consultant to government, industry and civic bodies. He consults actively and in recent years has taught a range of management and strategic marketing classes.
A web strategy pioneer, Philippa Gamse has been working with Internet applications since 1991. She currently teaches digital marketing at Hult in San Francisco.
Originally from the UK, Philippa obtained a post-graduate qualification in Library Science from University College, London. She has 10 years of corporate experience in Europe, including several years as a consultant for Deloitte, before founding her own US-based consulting and speaking practice in 1995.
Since then, Philippa has reviewed over 5,000 web presences. Her clients report that within 30 days of implementing her recommendations they achieve significant improvements in the levels of quality traffic, visitor engagement, customer loyalty and qualified sales leads.
Philippa was the sole featured expert for the cover story on effective web strategies for UPS "Compass" Magazine Fall 2009, distributed to more than 1million businesses. She is a Certified Management Consultant – an ISO-accredited designation recognized in over 60 countries. The second edition of her critically-acclaimed book 42 Rules for a Web Presence That Wins was recently published.
Dr. Georgiades received his PhD in Management from Henley Business School and holds a B.A. in Accounting and Economics from the University of Reading
His principal research interests lie in the field of change management and organizational psychology. His PhD research he investigated, from the management point of view, the impact that an acquisition had on the employees of a newly formed Insurance Company and the way management aimed to achieve a sound organisational environment via the provision of information to employees and their subsequent appreciation of that information.
His future research plans are develop the Framework of Issues he has created and to extend his work to explore in more detail how communication and power structures operate in the period of uncertainty before an acquisition is complete. In addition, he would like to add to his existing research by conducting a comparative study to understand whether acquisitions involving different types of organisation result in particular patterns of employee behaviour.
Apart from his academic experience, Dr. Georgiades has been involved in various projects in different types of industries. His professional experience allowed him to get a more practical understanding of how business organizations function and how they formulate strategies to tackle their everyday challenges.
Dr. Georgiades has taught various subjects such as Strategy, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Research Methods and supervised MBA students to conduct independent research and. Dr. Georgiades currently teaches Introduction to Business and Business Ethics.
Professor Grandinetti is Global Discipline Lead for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Hult and also teaches courses on Management and Marketing. He has been named Professor of the Week by the Financial Times and has been the recipient of two Global Teaching Excellence Award during his two years at Hult. He serves as lead Faculty Advisor to the Hult VC and Social Business Clubs and chairs the Hult SF Operations Committee. He was also named the Hult SF Professor most engaged with students outside of the classroom.
He taught Entrepreneurship at MIT for over ten years and has been teaching Corporate Venturing Denmark Technical University for seven years. He served as judge for ten years in the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition and is active in mentor capital programs such as TechStars and IBM SmartCamp. He also mentored the winning team in this year’s Hult Prize SF Regional Competition. Professor Grandinetti keynotes many Innovation and Venture Capital events and is active on the TEDx circuit.
Professor Grandinetti worked at McKinsey & Company and currently serves as Senior Adviser to businesses, universities, and governments on a broad range of strategic, innovation, marketing and commercialization issues. He is a mentor and Board Member to many US tech start-ups and social ventures.
He was named the annual Jess Morrow Johns Memorial Scholar at Yale and was the first ever recipient of the Procter & Gamble Marketing Leadership award. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering magna cum laude from Rutgers where he was named to the National Engineering Honor Society. He serves on the School’s board and was awarded the Engineering Medal of Excellence for career achievement as well as Alumni of the Year.
He has served on the Corporate Executive Board of WGBH Public TV and Radio, the flagship operation within the US Public Broadcasting System, for over a decade and has co-chaired the business development and nominating committees.
Dr. Green is an American economist who, until recently lived in Asia since the mid-1980s. He received his undergraduate education at the California Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. from Columbia University. He has served as an economist on the U.S. Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. and as a tenured professor of economics at Hosei University, Tokyo. For most of the last two decades he worked at the Asian Development Bank. In both Southeast Asia and in Central Asia he drafted country strategies and conducted research on a wide variety of economic topics. He served as the Country Director for ADB in Indonesia. He was instrumental in ADB’s regional cooperation efforts: initiating the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program and, as Director for the Southeast Asian regional cooperation unit, coordinating the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) initiative. He was a Research Fellow at the Asian Institute of Management in Manila from 2009-2012, until moving to San Francisco’s Bay Area to teach Global Economics at Hult. He has published extensively in academic journals, for the Asian Development Bank, and op-ed pieces both in Asia and in the United States.
Professor Gregoriou joined HULT in September 2012, as an Adjunct Professor of Finance. Professor Gregoriou has held senior management positions in various academic institutions throughout his career including Hull University, Brunel University and the University of East Anglia. A leading authority of finance, he has published over one hundred research papers in internationally recognized journals and generated over £5 million in research funding. He is a regular consultant for the CFA and the London Stock Exchange.
Professor Gregoriou has extensive teaching experience on undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA and short course programs throughout the world. He has taught on most aspects of finance including financial management, corporate finance, carbon trading, international finance and risk management.
Olaf Groth is a Professor for Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability at HULT International Business School, as well as the Founder and CEO of Emergent Frontiers Group LLC, which advises senior executives internationally on global innovation trends, strategy and commercial diplomacy. He has 20 years of experience in executive and advisory roles with Monitor Group, Qualcomm, Boeing, Vodafone, AirTouch, and a transportation startup.
Prof. Groth is a Sr.Fellow for Innovation at the Center for Emerging Markets Enterprise at Tufts University’s Fletcher School, a judge for GE Ecomagination, adviser at the Pacific Cities Sustainability Initiative, and co-chair of the Pacific Council Energy & Environment Committee. He is a member of the Bay Area Economics Institute Research Council, and the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
Prof. Groth holds Ph.D., M.A.L.D., M.A.I.P.S. and B.A. degrees in International Affairs with concentrations in business, economics, technology and negotiation from the Fletcher School and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He also studied negotiation at Harvard, trade economics at Georgetown University and finance at UC Berkeley.
Ronan is Associate Dean at Hult International Business School in London with responsibility for the Executive MBA, Masters in International Marketing and Masters in Social Entrepreneurship programmes.
Prior to this role, Ronan was Associate Professor teaching marketing and technology courses on the Masters, MBA and Executive MBA programmes, was the Discipline Lead for Marketing and was voted Professor of the Year three times in 2012.
Ronan joined Hult from Ashridge Business School where he designed, developed and delivered its digital strategy for online communications, digital marketing, social media, communities and the user-experience for online learning.
Ronan has presented at international conferences for the AACSB, EFMD, CEEMAN and ABS and the Future of Learning Conference in 2009. He has written articles and a book chapter on how new technology is changing education and was a member of the EFMD External Relations Meeting Steering Committee.
Before joining Ashridge, Ronan lived in Barcelona for twelve years, spending five years as the Director of E-Commerce and Content for the first music e-commerce website in Spain with responsibility for marketing and technology strategies, building the start-up to have the largest offering in Europe, sites for six language areas and five different brands including B2B and B2C offerings.
Prior to that, Ronan's first career was focused on music, voice and entertainment, with a variety of overlapping roles, which included managing groups for an independent record company; creating and managing websites; producing and presenting an English language programme on local radio; recording voiceovers for productions such as industrial training and children's cartoons; and also translating and teaching English.
Ronan has an honours degree in Computational Science and Economics from the University of Leeds; a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Westminster; and an Executive MBA from Ashridge. Ronan is also fluent in Spanish.
Aleksander Grzeszczak has for the past 10 years been a senior advisor to Value Discovery Partners (VDP), a major private equity investment fund focused on emerging markets, particularly on South Eastern Europe. Alek has executed a number of acquisitions in the region and is currently responsible for restructuring of the operating companies, executing business plans, acquiring and divesting portfolio companies. Prior to VDP, Alek was a Vice President in the Telecom Investment Banking group of Salomon Smith Barney (now Citigroup Corporate & Investment Bank), where he spent 5 years, first in the New York office and later in London. In that role, he executed a number of advisory, M&A, equity and debt financing transactions for SSB’s American and European clients. Alek is a finance faculty member at Judge Business School, Cambridge University. He is a graduate of Columbia Business School, where he received a joint MBA (finance) /MIA (international business) degree. He also holds a M.Sc. degree in Telecom and Electrical Engineering.
Cari E. Guittard specializes in Corporate Diplomacy & Geopolitical Risk and has spent an extensive amount of time working globally, primarily in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia, managing portfolios that have included Global Engagement, Strategic & Crisis Communications, Public Affairs & Public Diplomacy, Women's Leadership, Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets, Political Military Affairs, Diplomatic Security, and Counter-terrorism. She began her career with the US Department of State as a Presidential Management Fellow working in cyber security efforts and then served as founding Executive Director of Business for Diplomatic Action, the first business-led non-profit to enlist the U.S. business community in public diplomacy and tri-sector engagement efforts. Guittard serves in an Adjunct Faculty capacity for the University of Southern California Masters of Public Diplomacy Program and the University of San Francisco’s MBA program. She is a regular contributor to various media outlets to include Public Diplomacy Magazine, the Annenberg Center on Public Diplomacy (CPD) Blog, Periscope Post, and Reuters. Additionally, Guittard is a certified Global Mindset Instructor by the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Dr. Shreekant Gupta received his doctorate in economics from the University of Maryland at College Park (where his committee included the Nobel Laureate Thomas Schelling). He has taught at universities in the US, India and Singapore in the areas of economics, econometrics and environment. His research interests are in applied economics and policy including environment and development, climate change, urban economics, public economics. His awards include Fulbright Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Shastri Fellowship at Queens University, Canada. He has published several articles in academic journals such as Rand Journal of Economics, Land Economics, Ecological Economics, Economic and Political Weekly and Water Policy. In addition to academic articles he has published book chapters and news articles.
He was Director of National Institute of Urban Affairs, New Delhi and has also worked as an environmental economist at the World Bank at Washington DC. He has served on several national and international committees on the environment including the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 to which his contribution was recognized.
Bill Hancock is Hult Global Professor of Accounting and Finance. Previously Bill served as Acting Dean of Hult Boston. He was elected Hult “Professor of the Year” in 2012.
Prior to joining Hult, Bill spent over twenty years as a management consultant with IBM Global Systems, Ernst & Young, and Keane. He also was a divisional marketing manager at Digital Equipment Corporation, a position that led him to build and manage the world’s first business-to-business eCommerce site. This business had online sales over $1.3 billion and was profitable from the first year of operation.
Bill has served as an adjunct professor at Babson College and Northeastern University where he taught accounting, finance, entrepreneurial studies, information technology, eBusiness and management courses. He was elected “Outstanding Instructor of the Year” at Northeastern University.
He was also appointed Visiting Professor, Juian University, Peoples’ Republic of China, where he led a MBA program for senior Chinese government officials.

Hunter Hastings has spent his career in marketing. He was grounded as a brand manager at Procter and Gamble in consumer packaged goods. He was Vice President of Brand Management at SBC, the #3 brewer in the US (now part of SAB-Miller) with category leading brands such as Stroh’s, Old Milwaukee and Schlitz Malt Liquor. He was most recently Chief Marketing Officer at JBS, the Brazil-based global fresh food company and global brandowner of the Swift brand. In business services, he served as CEO of Emmperative, the P&G-funded marketing software venture, and Chairman of the EMM Group. He also founded and led the strategy consulting group at Ryan Partnership. Hunter’s clients have included Kimberly-Clark, Kraft, Clorox, Philip Morris International, MillerCoors, Pepsico, and Brown Forman, among many others. He developed and taught the Marketing and Brand Building course at the Center For Marketing Excellence, the professional training arm of the Association of National Advertisers, and has authored 3 books on marketing process and brand management. He has served on the boards of Emmperative and Pete’s Brewing Company. He holds bachelors and masters degrees in Economics from Cambridge University.
Alexandra Hendrickson serves as Executive Vice President at DHR International Shanghai. She is a leading executive recruiter for industrial and medical products companies. For four years prior to moving to Shanghai, Alexandra conducted research at DHR International’s office in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Before joining DHR International, Alexandra was an executive at PPG Industries, Inc. in the Industrial and Automotive Coatings divisions. Alexandra also held positions as PPG’s Director, Marketing and New Business Development, Automotive Coatings, in Troy, Michigan and as Director, Marketing and Business Development, Industrial Coatings Europe in Paris, France where she was responsible for new business development and marketing for Industrial Coatings for all of Europe. Alexandra has an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and a BA in Economics and History from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Alan Hertz is American by birth, but grew up largely in India and Pakistan. He has been teaching university students since 1975 and has been working in American international education since 1978. He has been at Hult for twenty years. His chief research interests are in Victorian poetry and journalism. His teaching specialties include the history of London, the cultural history of Britain, introductory courses in history, humanities, literature, and theater. His philosophy of teaching at Hult is to make as much use as possible of our greatest assets; the wonderful diversity of our student body and the overwhelming cultural resources of London. Alan also manages Hult's Visiting Students Program.
Steve has over 25 years of management consulting and training experience in areas such as development economics, education and training, strategic planning, and marketing. He was a Director in the Development Economics and Finance group at Arthur D. Little for 10 years, and spent the last three years with the company as the global head of its internal learning and training activities.
For the past 10 years, Steve has been one of three partners in ITSMA, an industry association that focuses on helping high technology companies with their services and solutions marketing. Steve has taught at a number of colleges and universities, including the University of Massachusetts, the University of Bordeaux, the University of the West Indies, and Arizona State University.
Ron is currently a senior partner at the IXL Center and at the Spinnaker Group (a venture capital firm). He is on the Faculty of the Hult International Business School, and on the Advisory board of Arthur D. Little Inc. (ADL). He was most recently a senior partner of the Monitor Group where he founded and led their Innovation practice and was founder of IMI (Innovation Management Inc.). For 20 years he was the managing director of the Technology and Innovation Management Practice for Arthur D. Little worldwide. He was also Chief Innovation Officer and served on their Technology Investment Board and Management Education Institute Board.
As a seasoned CEO, accomplished entrepreneur and executive coach, Dr. Kastner balances his time among activities that he loves including academic teaching in at least six countries and nine universities, interaction with students around the world and management consulting. Dr. Farzad Rafi Khan graduated with a PhD in Strategy and Organization from McGill University (Montreal, Canada) in 2005. Dr. Khan’s PhD dissertation was co-supervised by Professor Henry Mintzberg rated by the Financial Times of London as one of the top ten most important management thinkers alive today. He also has a Masters in Economics of Developing Countries from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor with Great Distinction from McGill University in Accounting and Finance. Dr. Khan has 15 years of international teaching experience at universities in Canada, China, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. While at McGill University, Dr. Khan received the “Teacher of the Year Award” in 2000. He has also been involved in executive development programs with organizations such as Nestle, Siemens, Telenor, and Teradata. In terms of research, Dr. Khan has published in academic journals in the business and management field (e.g., Human Relations, Organization, Organization Studies, and Journal of Business Ethics). His research interests center on business ethics, corporate social responsibility, critical approaches in management, and organization theory. Dr. Khan is a consultant to the Karachi School for Business and Leadership (KSBL) and will be joining it as an Associate Professor in January 2013.
Tony Kilbourn combines a career in marketing consulting and executive teaching. He brings nearly thirty years sales and marketing experience in consumer-facing organizations. He has worked for GSK and Mars in the food, personal care and pharmaceutical sectors. His work has always been international in scope having worked in Italy and France, and holding responsibilities in Asia Pacific, Europe and US. As a consultant, Tony has worked for several multinational companies developing strategies for growth. He is also associate of Ashridge Business School working on both tailored and qualification programs. He has a particular interest in competitive strategy: how to differentiate one’s product or service through clearer positioning, new features and benefits, or new claims. Tony read Psychology as part of the Natural Sciences tripos at Cambridge University, and has an MBA at INSEAD.
Chris brings a wide variety of experiences to his academic life; as a British army officer, he led a Mobile News Team in the Former Yugoslavia in the last months of the civil war, providing images and reports seen by millions around the world, returning as the NATO Spokesman in Bosnia a short time later. As the Managing Director of C3i Strategic Solutions, he has taught several world leaders how to get their messages across to their audiences and how to create strategic messages for their country or organisation. He has been published in many professional journals for his insights on Crisis Communication & Crisis Management and is currently the EU-appointed Strategic Communications advisor to the National Transitional Council in Libya.
Kosmas joined Hult in 2004 as Head of the Computing Department. He specializes in the computer networks filed but also has long experience in teaching a broad range of computing related courses from Business Information Systems to Web Development.
Kosmas has taught in a number of British institutions before Hult in both undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as in adult further education courses - most notably at City University, Middlesex University and the University of Westminster. He still has a visiting lecturer relationship with some of them.
Dr. Anna Krzeminska is currently a Post-Doc Scholar and Lecturer at the Institute of Corporate Development at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. Prior to that Anna had a lecturer position at the University of Technology, Sydney, research assistant positions at the Free University Berlin, University of Paderborn and University of Mainz as well as guest lecturer positions at several universities in Germany and Poland. Anna’s degrees are a Diploma (equivalent to Master) in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Mainz in 2002, where she was awarded for best diploma and outstanding diploma thesis, and a PhD in Business Administration and Economics with first class honors (summa cum laude) from the Free University of Berlin in 2008.
Anna’s major research focus is on social business & entrepreneurship centering mainly on strategic management issues of social businesses and explore business models, growth strategies, competitive advantage but also volunteerism and investments in social businesses and enterprises.

Christopher (Chris) Kummer is a Professor of Business and Director of MBA and Executive Education at Webster University in Vienna, Austria, President of the Institute of Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances (IMAA) in Zurich, Switzerland, and an Affiliate Professor at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Grenoble, France. He teaches strategy and finance related courses and trainings in bachelor, graduate, doctoral and executive education programs in Europe and Asia. Before joining Hult in Dubai as Associate Dean and Professor of Management Communication, Dr. Kuzniarski taught at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where she also engaged in curriculum development and research on intercultural aspects of professional communication.
Joanne Lawrence is Global Professor, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Innovation at Hult International Business School (Boston-Dubai-London-San Francisco-Shanghai) and is an academic advisor to the UN Global Compact.
Prior to Hult, she was a guest lecturer and adjunct professor at INSEAD and an affiliate of INSEAD’s Business in Society Centre, where she was involved in Project RESPONSE, an extensive study of global corporate social responsibility (CSR). A strong believer in the power of business to bring about lasting, positive change, she focuses on developing leaders who can ethically and effectively leverage resources to achieve both social and economic objectives.

Dr. Marple has taught finance and investment banking at Hult and its predecessor organizations. Over the years he has played a major role in building the MBA program. He is a tenured professor at Northeastern University where he teaches business finance, investment banking and international finance. At Northeastern he has chaired almost every faculty committee known to humankind. He earned an AB degree from Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and MBA and doctoral degrees from Harvard. Donelda is an Associate Professor of Marketing who has taught in the United Arab Emirates (AUS and UOWD), Hong Kong (HKUST), Canada (McMaster and Ryerson), England (Bradford and Leeds Business School) and she was inaugural faculty onboard the ocean-going university, The Scholar Ship. She has taught EMBA, MBA, Masters, Undergraduate and Adult Education classes across a range of marketing subjects. Her research agenda includes her interest in service encounters from her PhD studies as well as business and marketing topics relevant to emerging markets. Prior to academia, Donelda held senior positions in companies in the manufacturing, service and distribution industry sectors in Toronto, Canada area. In addition to Hult, Donelda is coaching faculty with Athabasca University (Canada) online Executive MBA. She has lived international for many years but still connects with her Canadian roots.
Herb Meiberger was first elected to a five-year term on the Retirement Board in 1992, and has served for 20 years in that capacity. The Retirement Board oversees the $15.4 billion (6/31/2011) Defined Benefit pension fund and the voluntary $2.0 billion Defined Contribution fund. Mr. Meiberger was hired by the Retirement System in 1986 as a security analyst and has worked in several capacities, including directly managing and overseeing the fixed income portfolios, monitoring compliance of the asset managers and working on the alternative investment portfolio. He retired in 2006 after twenty years of service. He earned a B.A. in mathematics and chemistry from the University of South Dakota and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1987, and has taught CFA® review courses for the Stalla/Becker Educational program. In addition, he teaches corporate finance and investments at San Francisco State University. Mr. Meiberger serves on the advisory board of the Pacific Pension Institute, and the Institutional Real Estate Letter.
Professor Menéndez, teaches marketing courses at Hult. He has a doctorate in Political Science from Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, an MBA from Michigan State University, and a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Católica Andres Bello also in Caracas Venezuela. Jorge worked for ten years in Procter & Gamble’s marketing department (8 years in Venezuela and 2 years in Japan). After that, he was the Commercial Director for HJ Heinz’ Venezuelan subsidiary for 17 years. In parallel with these executive responsibilities, he taught marketing courses, at night at post graduate level and in executive education courses, mainly at IESA ( a post graduate business school with three accreditations: AACSB international, Association of MBA’s and EFMD EQUIS). He is also on the board of directors of three companies (consumer goods, market research and a non profit organization). Jorge currently coordinates post graduate studies in marketing at IESA and has taught at Hult’s Dubai, London and San Francisco campuses.

John received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and his MBA, with a concentration in finance, from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. John became a CFA charterholder in 1990. In 2010 he earned the CIPM (Certificate in Performance Measurement) designation, also administered by the CFA Institute. From 1999 until 2006, John participated as a grader and senior grader at the CFA Institute. He also has been a member of the working body of the CFA Institute’s candidate core curriculum review committee. John began his career as an accountant and financial analyst for Levi Strauss. He later served as manager of treasury and risk, and pension officer, for Placer Dome US, Inc. Since 1998, John has been a consultant, with engagements at such firms as Chiron (Novartis) and Wells Fargo Bank. John also teaches preparatory classes for the CFA exam.
Professor Nairn has over 15 years of experience teaching. Her area of research expertise is the ethics of marketing to young people. She works as a consultant to a range of governments, NGOs, and corporations including UNICEF, Family and Parenting Institute, Coca-Cola GB, Unilever, and Mothercare. She has served government panels for the U.K. Department of Education and the Department of Health to conduct a major review of the impact of the commercial world on children's wellbeing. She is a frequent press, radio and TV commentator on the ethics of marketing to children, and published a book, Consumer Kids.
Professor Newman has extensive experience with entrepreneurship and small businesses. The founder of various companies in the computer, venture capital, and real estate sectors, he shifted his attention to education in the mid-1980’s. Mr. Newman was the founding director of the entrepreneurship program at Boston University and taught entrepreneurship at Babson College for over a decade. At Babson, he was part of a team which developed a unique, experiential business course which has been recognized with two national awards. Mr. Newman has consulted to universities and government bodies on curriculum design and the design and delivery of entrepreneurship programs internationally and has developed and delivered programs in the U.S., Africa, Australia, the Middle East, South America, and Europe. He has been recognized as Professor of the Year at both Babson College and Hult (twice) and was identified by Business Week as one of six people who contributed to the success of small businesses in the 1990s, the only academic on the list.

A management development and communication specialist, Mary Jane has more than 30 years of experience consulting, designing, and delivering professional development training programs. Professor O' Donnell is an engineer-turned-industry analyst for the telecommunication and media industries. An experienced business professional with over 25 years in the high tech and software industry, Marty Patton is a project manager in the non-profit arena, and is an Adjunct Faculty member at University of San Francisco and Hult International School of Business. Her professional experience ranges from selling & supporting customers on timesharing in the 1970's, to marketing IBM hardware & software solutions as a key business partner in the 80's & 90's, to leading & managing at staff and executive levels for Fortune 500 and small startup companies, covering all aspects of the Information Systems knowledge base in the 90’s up to today. She has taught technical courses to adults in a corporate education environment and communications, leadership, and group dynamics courses in the non-profit world. Her special interests in graduate technology and business topics include Project Management, Effective Decision Making/IT Investment Decisions, Team Dynamics & Leadership, and Marketing in the Ecommerce world. Responsible for a 5 month project management contract each year with The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Marty works with many local non-profits, serving on boards, providing business consulting services, and tutoring math in Sonoma County Schools. Dr. Timothy Payne earned his Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco. Prior to joining Hult, Tim worked as a Community Support Coordinator for Kiva Microfunds, the world's first personal microlending marketplace with a mission of alleviating global poverty by connecting people through microlending. Tim also spent five years working as an Assistant Vice President manager for Wells Fargo Bank. His research includes financial anthropology, social entrepreneurship, and innovation focusing on critical hermeneutic theory ideas such as identity, narrative and language. Tim also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Masters in Organization and Leadership from the University of San Francisco. He has presented his research at several international conferences and his fieldwork displays his commitment to socioeconomic development in South East Asia, particularly in the country of Myanmar.
Dr. Amanda Nimon Peters is a business psychologist. Dr. Amanda graduated at 19 from the University of Adelaide with a first class Honours Degree in Psychology and the Australian Psychological Society Prize. After taking a position as a lecturer in Psychology at the Flinders University of South Australia, she moved to the University of Cambridge where she gained a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. in Behavioural Science, and completed post-doctoral research. She moved from Cambridge to spend ten years in Procter & Gamble, working throughout Europe and the Middle East to train brand teams in applying psychological research findings to build sales and improve consumer communications. She took an assignment in Dubai in 2004 to recruit and lead a team of consultants that worked with all major P&G brands and retailers in the Arabian Peninsula. Dr. Amanda is now the managing director of Sara Black International, a company that helps clients’ key employees to improve their personal effectiveness. The company’s methodology involves the practical application of psychological principles and published research findings to improve solutions for everyday business challenges.
Prof. Pilkington has been teaching Operations Management at Hult for several years. He is a Registered European Engineer and also a Chartered Engineer. Other academic appointments include a tenured post at the University of London and visiting positions at NUS, Singapore.

James A. Pope received degrees in economics from the College of Wooster and Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. Between his masters and doctoral degrees, he served five years in the U.S. Air Force as a logistics officer. He has written and consulted extensively in the field of operations management including supply chain management, total quality management, inventory control, scheduling, warehouse location and database management. He is the author of Supply Chain Survival in the Age of Globalization and co-author of Ocean Container Transportation: An Operational Perspective. He has been a professor at Old Dominion University and the University of Toledo and has taught abroad in Germany, the Netherlands and India. In addition to his academic work, he has been active in APICS, an organization for operations management professionals. He is professionally certified by APICS with the CFPIM and CSCP designations, and for thirty years has taught certification courses and developed certification training and testing materials for the organization.

William Reinfeld is a management consultant and professor of business and economic strategy. He divides his time between the US and Greater China. His teaching experience includes executive and graduate courses on cross-border business strategies in EMBA, IMBA and MBA programs at National Chengchi University and Chang Gung University, in Taiwan, at CEIBS and Fudan University, in Shanghai, and The Fletcher School at Tufts University. His courses have included Cross Border Strategic Alliances, Management Consulting, Business Strategy and Economic Development. For the past three years he has run the a program at CEIBS in which students undertake real strategy problems provided by MNCs in China.
Dr. Reinfeld’s consulting has been largely in the areas of competitive positioning, technology innovation, cross-border strategic alliances, and industrial policy formulation. He has had responsibility for, or made major contributions to over 300 client engagements in 35 countries. His clients have included many of the largest MNCs, national private/public sector companies and government policy makers/agencies.
In 1967, he joined the consulting firm of Arthur D. Little (ADL), where he became Vice President, International. From 1969 to 1972, he was Chief Economist on a major engagement with the Asian Development Bank (in Manila), covering all of Southeast Asia. Between 1978 and 1987, he was the Director of ADL’s Economic Development practice. In 1987, he moved to Taiwan to establish the firm’s Greater China practice.
He left ADL and joined Accenture in 1994 as Director of Strategy Consulting for Greater China. In addition to building and running this practice he was actively engaged in client work, assisting major multinationals in planning their Asian strategies. Since retiring from Accenture, he has been consulting for Asian and American clients, as well as teaching.
Dr. Reinfeld has published numerous reports, articles and chapters in books concerning strategy and economic development. He earned a B.S. degree (1962) from Carnegie Mellon University and M.S. and Ph.D. (1967) degrees from Yale University.
After earning his Ph.D. in the areas of accounting, control, and the performance contribution of individuals, Professor Bill Ryan joined Hult to teach across a range of accounting and finance courses, with an emphasis on practical application built upon sound theoretical foundations. He has also designed courses for and led the distance learning MBA for the University of London. Before entering academic life, Professor Ryan held a number of senior management positions in accounting and strategic change management in companies such as Chrysler and the 3M Corporation, where he completed assignments in the U.K., Europe, and the U.S. His research is in the general area of management control spanning accounting and business strategy and he has published papers across these areas.
Jeff Schiebe is founder of J & F Associates, a management advisory & consulting company, providing international business development to emerging companies. A seasoned global entrepreneur and executive, with more than 30 years of international sales & marketing experience, his focus is on developing global partners, channel development and strategic selling—primarily in telecom, software and Internet markets. A native San Franciscan and avid chess player, Dan Sevall teaches the MIB accounting and finance toolboxes, as well as the MIB Accounting class. After earning his undergraduate degree from the United States Military Academy (West Point), Dan served as an Army officer in Europe in the early 1990's, and also earned a master's degrees from Troy University (International Relations) in its European campus. Following his service commitment, Dan received a fellowship to Duke University, completing his MBA in 1999. Sherman, CPA, is Professor of Finance at the Hult International Business School and a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Northeastern University, teaching classes to undergraduates, MBA, EMBA, and MSF students in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. Prior to joining Northeastern’s full-time faculty, he served as Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, and Director of Gloucester Co. Inc., a manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, and caulking materials, and as Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Venture Builders, an advisory firm dedicated to helping entrepreneurs build successful businesses, established in 1999. Earlier, he was principal of his own consulting firm providing strategic and operational planning assistance and financial management guidance to smaller, growing businesses. Among the firms he served were a developer of electronic commerce software products, a developer of specialized voice recognition and report generation software, a consulting firm focused on repetitive manufacturing practices, and a security consulting and investigative services firm.
Earlier in his career, he was Chief Financial Officer of a medium-sized shoe parts manufacturing company and controller of two successful textile manufacturers. He has more than twenty-five years of financial management experience in several manufacturing and service companies, holding titles from Administrative Manager and Divisional Controller to Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer. During his career, he has worked for businesses from the very small to the Fortune 50, from private to publicly held, from domestic to multi-national to foreign-owned. For twenty-five years, until 1997, he served on the Board of Directors of a NASDAQ-listed foam plastics fabricator, and he has served as a director or advisor to several corporations and non-profit organizations in the Boston area.
Mr. Sherman was educated at Harvard College and earned masters degrees from The Amos Tuck School and from Bentley College. He has taught regularly for several state societies of CPAs and for American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for the past 25 years. Mr. Sherman has authored programs on Controllership and Finance for the Non-Financial Manager, which have been presented a number of times to the Smaller Business Association of New England and programs on Planning and Budgeting, Negotiating Debt and Equity Financing, and The Business Plan for AICPA. He has also written Finance and Accounting for the Non-Financial Manager published by the Amacom Division of the American Management Association (published in 2001, 2006, 2011). He also wrote The Business of Project and Program Management (Dubuque, Iowa; Kendall-Hunt Publishing; 2009) which has been used as a text in a course that is part of a Master Degree in Project Management program at Brandeis University.
Jim has been serving as an adjunct faculty member at Hult for the last three years teaching the “IT for Managers” course. He has also taught several courses at the graduate and undergraduate level at Northeastern University and Boston University. Jim’s business background includes independent consulting as well as senior management consulting at Ernst & Young and office director of IT consulting for a division of Deloitte. His experience also includes Chief Information Officer of four companies across pharmaceutical, manufacturing and services industries. As a Vice President of IT at Houghton Mifflin, Jim had responsibility for the Program Management Office and led the IT Infrastructure support function of that company. As Vice president and CIO of the Shipley Company he led global IT initiatives in the U.S., Europe and Asia. With this breadth of experience, Jim brings to Hult a business focused and pragmatic application of IT best practices which he thoroughly enjoys sharing through the framework of Hult’s education platform.
Dr. Mark Spokes teaches primarily on the social entrepreneurship concentration with a specific focus on human security and rights. His classes reflect a current research interest in critical theories of social change and global ethics. Dr. Spokes also teaches in his specialist area of American national identity and foreign policy. He has been with Hult InternationalBusiness School since it opened its London campus. Prior to this, Dr. Spokes taught at Queen Mary University of London and worked for several think tanks and NGOs in London. In his spare time, he moves his struggle for animal liberation into the kitchen and attempts to improve hisvegan cooking skills.
Dr. Merwyn Strate is currently the Dean with Hult International School of Business in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Prior to his appointment to the Hult faculty he was an Associate Professor and Chair of the Management Department in the School of Business at the American University in Dubai. Previous academic experience includes being appointed Assistant Professor of Organizational Leadership at Purdue University in Indiana and time spent at the University of Nebraska as both a graduate teaching/research assistant. Professor Strate earned his Ph.D. in Human Resource Development at the University of Nebraska. He also holds an MBA from the University of Nebraska and a Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State College in business administration and economics. While studying for his doctorate, Professor Strate participated in research activities focusing on Leadership and Organization Development. He has also been interviewed on French and Greek Televisions. Terence began his career in mergers and acquisitions at Citigroup and Lazard Brothers and worked in the UK financial services advisory at Ernst & Young. In addition, he consulted a biotech start-up and major companies, including Shell, F&C Asset Management, Alitalia and Alliance Boots. Terence has held teaching appointments at various business schools including ESCP Europe, Aalto University and the Judge Business School. He received his PhD from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge in the UK.

Tuninga is Dean at AVT Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark, Director of the PhD Program and Professor of International Management and Marketing at the Open University of the Netherlands, and Visiting Professor of International Management and Marketing at Hult International Business School. He is the former Director Dean and Professor of International Business and Marketing at the Maastricht School of Management. He was the Associate Dean and Director MBA Programs and Professor of Marketing and International Business at Nyenrode Business University (The Netherlands). Professor Tuninga has lectured extensively both in North and South America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. His Ph.D. is from Temple University (Philadelphia, USA). He completed his dissertation in Comparative Marketing in 1987. He also holds an MA in Economics, an MBA in International Business and an MSc. in Marketing.
His research publications have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Macromarketing, Managerial and Decision Economics, the Irish Marketing Review, the Scandinavian International Business Review, the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Materials Management, Journal of Transnational Management, Bedrijfskunde and Proceedings of International Conferences.
Prof. Tuninga has been involved in many international projects funded by the Dutch Government, World Bank, European Union, United Nations and other international organizations. From 2007 until 2009 he was the President of the International Management Development Association. He was the Vice-Chair of the International Management Board (Board of Trustees) of the Association of MBAs (AMBA – UK) and currently is the Chair of the Faculty of Assessors of AMBA. He has been a member or chair of more than 40 assessment teams to business schools around the globe. He has been a consultant for companies such as for example Melitta North America and GE and a partner of the Holland Consulting Group.
Christopher (Rusty) Tunnard teaches Management and Organization at Hult. He is also a member of the International Business faculty at the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he has recently been appointed the Hitachi Fellow for Technology and International Affairs. For many years, he was a Principal at Arthur D. Little (ADL) in their Travel and Technology practice in Brussels and London. He is a recognized expert on technology-led change in the international communications, travel, and financial service industries. Prior to joining ADL, he directed world-wide strategy and technology partnerships for the Travel Division of American Express TRS Co. He has also run his own consulting firm and has owned and operated a hotel barge company in southern France.
His doctoral dissertation focused on the use of technology in the formation of resistance networks that eventually led to peaceful regime change in Serbia in the 1990s. His current research examines the roles that social networks and social media can play in building up institutions and civil society in post-revolutionary countries, and he is developing analytical methods to examine public and private social networks and their impact on organizations.
Professor Vannoni has more than 15 years international experience in media, corporate communications, digital marketing, and social media. He holds a MBA from Boston University and began his career at CNN International's Business-Today show. Dr. Vannoni's current clients include a USD4 billion market-cap company as well as the Italian energy regulator. In 2005, he was Elected Member of the Board at the American Chamber of Commerce in Croatia.
Dr. Wagemans is Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, leading the Public Services Advisory Practice. Prior to PwC, he was a strategy consultant at Arthur D. Little. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. He was the recipient of the Hoover Foundation Fellowship while at Brown University and has been Visiting Fellow at Oslo University.
Gloria Walker, ABC, FRSA, is a communications consultant and researcher, based in London, England. She has held positions in the US and in Europe in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations and public affairs, both in-house and in consultancies. She has taught in undergraduate and graduate programs in the US, the UK and Thailand.
Claudio E. Weber joined Hult International Business School (Shanghai Campus) on Monday, February 20, 2012, as Assistant Dean. Claudio has been residing and working in China since 2003. He joins Hult after working in the real estate industry for +5 years and the management consulting industry for pharma/healthcare for 1 year previously. Claudio has received his Master of Business Administration degree from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Companies he has worked for include Jones Lang LaSalle, Colliers International, IMS Health, Commerzbank and State Street.
Cathy Wellings is an experienced training professional with over 20 years’ experience working in France, Spain and the UK. As Culture and Communication Manager, and now Head of Communication Skills, at Communicaid, a City based-training consultancy she specialises in intercultural and communication skills training and coaching and has managed numerous global projects. She has worked with many major corporate and public sector clients including Barclays Bank, HSBC, Schlumberger, SriLankan Airlines, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and DFID. She has a BA in French, a Masters in Applied Linguistics and is an accredited coach with the Academy of Executive Coaching.
Mo manages his own marketing consultancy company in London and has over the years carried out consultancy assignments for several organisations including Coca cola, The British Council and The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Over the past six years, Mo has trained over 2000 marketing executives mainly in Europe, Asia and Africa. Prior to setting up his consultancy, he worked for four years as Group Marketing Manager (West Africa) for the French multinational firm Cement Françoise.
Mo is a graduate of Cranfield University School of Management and holds a Chartered Marketer Status from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK). His doctoral dissertation centred on managing service quality in academic institutions.
Mo serves as an Adjunct professor at the triple accredited Grenoble University Graduate School of Business (GGSB) and lectures in their campuses in France, Singapore and China.
Melissa Willby is the Dean for the Undergraduate program at Hult International Business School’s London campus. She came to Hult from Syracuse University’s London campus where she served as the Internship and Community Service Coordinator for this large, well-established study abroad program. During her time at SU, Melissa rationalized and expanded SU’s internship program and developed links with a wide variety of London businesses, charities, NGO’s and local schools. Prior to this, she lectured for a number of international and study abroad universities and colleges including Richmond, the American International University in London; Ithaca College London and the American School in London, as well as serving on the Board of Directors for the Soup Kitchen at ACL. She holds a PhD from Sussex University in American Studies. After twenty-five years of living in London, she has finally succeeded in visiting all of capital's thirty-two boroughs and two cities.
Andrew Wright has been with Hult since 2003. He specializes in international political economy, development, and the political economy of war. He returned to academic life as a mature student, after a decade of work in local government administration. Andrew studied philosophy, then economic history and international politics (at York University) and sociology (at the London School of Economics); since then Andrew has taught at both British and American universities, including the School of African and Oriental Studies and Birkbeck College (University of London), the University of Notre Dame in London, and London Metropolitan University.
Andrew is a member of the British International Studies association, and was a founding editor of the journal, Historical Materialism. His primary research interests and current project concerns the relationship between war and the world market economy. He is also working on a critical survey of approaches to the relationship between war, politics and society. His publications include a conference paper on 'Anthony Giddens and the Historical Sociology of War and Modernity' presented at the British International Studies Association; a paper on 'Capitalism States and Accounting' published in the journal Critical Perspectives in Accounting and several contributions to the recently published Encyclopedia of International Political Economy.
As president and founder of Enterprise Systems, Sharon Wulf provides organizational and business development services. With a management background largely formed as the Director and Group Manager of Strategic Business Programs for the Semiconductor and Technologies Division at Digital Equipment Corporation and as a Senior Finance Manager for Engineering Technologies at The Polaroid Corporation, Sharon formed Enterprise Systems in 1992. Sharon has over three decades of teaching experience at the MBA level and currently serves on several MBA faculties. As a faculty member at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s School of Business, Sharon instructs graduate level courses at WPI and EMC, UMASS Memorial, National Grid, Natick Labs, and United Technologies. Named MBA Faculty of the Year 2011 at Framingham State University, she instructs MBA courses in MBA Professional Capstone and Strategy Management, Human Resources Management, and Global Business Management. Recipient of the Northeastern University Teaching Excellence Award, Sharon taught Business Strategy and Management to graduate and undergraduate students. Sharon authored three books Customer Service Action Plans, Leadership in Action, and Building Performance Values that were published by HRD Press and honored at the NU Major Works Reception. Sharon currently serves on several non-profit boards including the National Board of the English Speaking Union of the United States of America.

Mario Yanez, Jr. has been a full-time member of the Faculty at the Computer Information Systems Department of the School of Business Administration, University of Miami since 1998. His areas of expertise include Management Information Systems, Project Management of Information Technology, and Management of Technology. He teaches Management Information Systems and Project Management in the regular and Executive MBA programs, in the Master of Science in Professional Management program offered in Spanish to Latin American executives, and at the undergraduate level. He also teaches Management of Technology in the Industrial Engineering Department.
Prior to his academic career, he was an information systems/technology senior manager and consultant in the private sector. A former Director of Telecommunications and Networks at the University of Miami, and the University’s NGJ Information Systems Institute, his extensive industry experience also includes assignments in corporate MIS and Project Management with Ryder System, Inc., Bell South, GTE, General Electric and KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mario holds a PhD Degree in Business Information Systems and Technology Management from the University of Miami, a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Florida State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Miami. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) and Secretary of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Education Committee of the International Association for the Management of Technology (IAMOT); he is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a member of the PMI’s Global Accreditation Center Academic Network. He has been recently selected by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar in Strategic Project Management.
Professor Zif holds engineering degrees from Technion, Israel, and an MBA and PhD from New York University. He was a member of the faculty at Tel-Aviv University and lectured for many years in executive programs at Harvard, Wharton and Northwestern, and in many programs around the world. He was elected "Professor of the Year" at Hult in December 2005. Professor Zif has extensive consulting experience in many industries and was previously the president of a start-up U.S. firm funded by venture capital.
