Accommodation

Find the home that’s right for you

There is no student accommodation at Hult Dubai, so you will be able to find the home that suits your own taste, lifestyle and budget. We recommend that you wait until you actually arrive in the city before you sign contracts and exchange money, but you can research neighborhoods, determine your budget, and even find housemates before you arrive.

Where to look

The neighborhoods, as well as prices, vary widely in Dubai. So you can be sure to find something that suits your lifestyle and budget. We recommend neighborhoods that are on or near the Metro line including: Al Barsha, Dubai Marina, Tecom, Jumeirah Lake Towers, and Jumeriah Beach Residence.

What to expect

Whether you’re renting your own apartment through an agent, or planning to share, you’ll need a copy of your passport, a residence visa, and a checkbook.  It will take 4-6 weeks to process the residence visa after your arrival in Dubai; in the meantime Hult will provide you with a letter stating the visa is under process. Landlords and utility providers will accept this in lieu of your visa. You should expect to sign a 12-month lease when renting an apartment.

Ways to pay

Rent Dubai is generally paid by post-dated check. Emirates NBD bank has issued checkbooks to our students in the past. However this can be a lengthy process, so students should be prepared to pay the yearly amount upfront for accommodation in cash or by bank transfer.

Furnishing your home

Most apartments in Dubai are rented as unfurnished, although white goods are usually provided. You can request that the landlord furnish the property before you move in, but this will come at an extra yearly cost, on top of rent and deposit. It is common practice to furnish your apartment yourself in Dubai, as furniture is not very costly. Alternatively, you can often purchase furniture from a previous tenant or landlord.

Tools to help you in your search

If you want to share, the best resource for seeking rooms in apartments and villas in Dubai is www.dubizzle.com. This is also a great site for buying and selling furniture.

The hotel option

If you want to stay in a hotel, either in the long or short term, there are options to suit every budget in Dubai. We have also secured special rates for our students at Holiday Inn Express in Internet City, which is a 5-minute walk from campus.

Advice and recommendations

We can give you advice on how to set up your utilities, hotels near campus, and where to buy furniture. We can also recommend agents that previous students have rented apartments through.
