Dan has 20+ years corporate experience in key management positions, including Directorships, General Manager and Senior Advisor positions, in a variety of industries. He has also held teaching and executive development roles and is particularly interested in corporate strategy, management methods and motivation. He has extensive lecturing experience and is a published author.
Since moving to the UAE in 2005 from Australia, Dan has worked and travelled extensively throughout the GCC and wider MENA region. He now speaks, reads and writes Arabic and has enjoyed developing an understanding of the local cultures. He currently resides in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates with his wife and two daughters, where he is also Treasurer of the Australian Business Group in Abu Dhabi (AusBG). He was formally Chairman of the Australian Business Group Oman (ABGO).
Dan has developed an excellent rapport with people of all ages and backgrounds and has become a highly regarded motivator. He is an Accredited Ashridge Executive Coach and has worked with GCC and expat leaders at the highest level. His coaching style draws on a range of psychological theories and methods and also incorporates his insights from elite sports performance. Dan is a former professional athlete in boxing and basketball and is at the forefront of work in building high performing corporate teams and an emerging field known as the “Corporate Athlete” – lessons that executives can learn from the way elite athletes prepare for events. He continues to train today.
