The Curriculum

Before beginning their third year, students declare a concentration, which is the subject they choose to study in-depth. After completing core courses in Communication Skills, Liberal Arts, Global Knowledge, and Business Fundamentals, students choose one of five areas in which to major:

“I chose the Honor’s Track program because I wanted the biggest challenge from my courses. Each Honors course required more time and commitment, but they were the most enriching educational experiences I’ve had so far. Plus, because I could take a few more courses each year, I finished my Bachelor degree in 3 years and enrolled in Hult’s Master of Finance program – so I’m getting both a Bachelor and Master degree in four years!”

Honors Program

The Honors Program at Hult is designed to serve our most academically talented students. It offers the most rigorous academic challenge while accelerating the 120-credit degree towards completion in less time.

What is it and how does it work?

Students who achieve outstanding results in their first year (cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher) are invited to join Hult’s Honors Program. They can join any time from the beginning of Year Two up until the start of their final year, provided they continue to meet the GPA requirement. Honors Program students must take at least 3 courses during their degree that are designated ‘Honors,’ where they participate in additional discussion sessions with the professor and other Honors students. In their final year, all Honors Program students enroll in the Honors Thesis Seminar. Under the guidance of the Honors Advisor, each student researches and writes a polished, academic thesis on a topic relevant to his or her chosen Concentration.

What are the benefits?

Joining the Honors Program allows students the following privileges:

  • Earlier completion of the degree program: Students are automatically allowed to take up to one additional course per term—maximum 5 courses (15 credits) per term instead of the usual 4—enabling them to complete their 120-credit BA degree in less time. Non-Honors Program students must wait until their third year to take 5 courses per term and must apply to do so.
  • Dedicated advisors: Each student has a dedicated Honors Advisor who oversees the thesis research and writing.
  • Executive Speaker Series: They are the only undergraduate students invited to the prestigious Executive Speaker Series, usually reserved for graduate students only.
  • Extra sessions with professors: They receive extra tutorial sessions with professors in Honors-designated courses, with personal attention and advanced discussions beyond class time.
  • Top preparation for graduate school: They graduate from the Honors Program with the highest recognition and solid research papers that can help them gain entry to top graduate programs.
  • Talented Honors students typically qualify for the Combined Degree program
